After using this rom for a day, tried other ICS roms.
For now staying with CM9 FXP 115 (4.0.4), which is MUCH smoother, and feels very quick, compared to even 2.3.x roms!
I guess a proper miui rom will be based on FXP and compiled for Ray, not ported ..

No offense dude, but this thing was ported from arc S which is basically same as Ray and not to mention it's Official from MIUI too. And everything works as i hope.

I am happy that you have high expectations from Sony or MIUI ..maybe you think they will give each phone it's own sources ... But FYI, framework for Neo/NeoV/Arc/ArcS/Ray are exactly the same...

Difference comes only in lib files which MIUI is already using Sony ones as base, which isn't something more than copy/paste thing to level...

Consider this port as done exclusively for Ray...

Well I am not yet sure why, just try Fxp 115 cm9 for yourself..
It runs very fast with low memory footprint.
Also if u look at system app, u will notice that all apps take less ram with FXP.
Looks like cm9 is a lot better optimized than official Sony beta rom.
Benchmarks seem to confirm it:
Quadrant 1650
NenaMark1 60.4

Bacause basically, these themes are made for miui gigerbread roms. Try gigerbread miui if you are into themes

I have used CM9 for enough time...That is witout any question a very good work and I have big expectations from that...

BUT I am sorry but the choppiness existed in CM9 every moment.. its still not perfect... There was Lag free Opening of app drawer but that too gets enough laggy when u install google apps..

My phone didnt deep sleep for a sec... battery drained like 10%/hr without having even those google apps installed.. it might have features but still not perfect... I would also wish for that perfect port for them coz I like AOSP builds myself free from Sony bloatwares...

Let me assure, u will not continue using CM9 for many days... ;).. its still not perfect to be used as daily driver...

anyway, There is work going on with AOKP Kang build, Hope I get that GSM fixed then get ready to feel the smoothness... 240mb Ram free was what I was getting...

If you know enough dev, I would be glad to share the build with u to resolve the issues coz thats just mind blowing...

Yes, I finally managed to install a custom rom on my Ray. For now I really like this one.
In the date in my lockscreen are two chinese symbols. Can I change these?

Trying this ROM. It seems quite a lot slow after install, but I'll give it some time.

However, I am unable to use the phone at all.

Firstly, the keyboard just doesn't seem to open up at the text entry fields. It is enabled in the settings.

Secondly, the patch from the first post is unavailable. Do I need it still?
