I've got an issue with phone call sound, there is no sound from earspeaker and the mic is not working. Maybe it is only my device that got some audio routing problem. I've tested the latest version 1.7, with LOS 17 from @AsD Monio it ist working well. Exept the Loudspeaker output while phonecalls but this issue was even present on LOS 16 with my device. Sorry i've made no log...
Is there any mmi code or someway to adjust the earspeaker and the microphone loudess and routing?

Please make sure you're on stock O dsp. AsD had the same issue, updating to O dsp fixed it.

You are THE MAN!!!
Thank you so much that solved my issue too, perfect!
I had updated the modem but obviously not dsp with fastboot, thank you so much!
As far as i checked everything works fine, but are there some other peaces from stock wich have to be updated and what exacly does "adspso" do, couldn find something with ecosia...
Maybe this hint would be useful for others too and could be mentioned on the first site...
BTW dirty flashing from ASDs Version to this ends up in an bootloop!

adspso is firmware for audio, you could say. Also I did put Oreo firmware required in the OP, which includes everything from stock Oreo (bootloader, gpt, dsp, modem, fsg)

When the screen navagation bar is disabled to use fingerprint gestures, a Black bar is displayed under the keyboard.

Everything working well here. One of my banking apps doesn't launch, I guess due to the unlocked bootloader, but I knew there was a risk of that and it's worth the trade off.

the only thing I am unsure about, whether it should work or not, is the "lift to wake" function. Does this work for anyone?

Thanks JarlPenguin, so much, for keeping the G5S going!!!

Yea, lift to wake should be in settings > system > gestures

Hello all,

First of all, thank you for your great work on the G5S device.
I have few questions for you:

1. I'm running Lineage OS 16.0, 20200502 build. Can I dirty flash this 17.1 ROM over it (of course I will backup it with TWRP, before to proceed)?

2. I'm probably dumb, but I can't find in anywhere the needed Oreo firmware; could you provide me a link?
How can I check the installed version?
And some kind of instruction on how to install it (ADB, I suppose)?

Thank you in advance!

Thanks:

To clarify my original question, I know where the setting is (I called it lift to wake but it's actually "lift to check") and have it on, but the screen doesn't actually wake when I lift up the phone so it isn't working. Does anyone have this function working?
(The setting is also at Display > Lock screen display)

The screen does turn itself on automatically when a notification is received and shown on the lockscreen.

Otherwise, I have to press the power button to turn on the screen and see the lockscreen. Or else with the fingerprint but that also unlocks the phone.

I have Nova Launcher which has an option in the admin apps permissions section to allow it to control the lockscreen, but the "lift to check" function doesn't work whether or not the admin app permsission is given to Nova Launcher.

Have also tried with "prevent accidental wake-up" on and off under "display", makes no difference.

Thanks!

So just wondering if this function, with the setting on, is actually working for anyone.

Disable do not disturb or anything else which might prevent it from turning on (related to notifications)

I found a setting Display (advanced) > Ambient Display Gestures > Pick-up "pulse notifications on pick-up" and with that turned on, the screen does wake if I pick up the phone. However, it is a different lock screen that comes up from the normal one, and only shows a tiny icon of any apps that have notifications, not the content of the notifications themselves (also it has just a black background, not the wallpaper from the normal lock screen), even though the sensitive info setting is on and the content does appear on the normal lock screen. I still have to press the power button and then the normal lock screen appears. Or can swipe down from the icons and the notifcations appear as well as the expanded status bar. Not sure if all of this is by design or not. Will try it like this for a few days anyways.

Thanks for your help!

1. Nope, you're 100% better off clean flashing.
2. Download the latest zip from https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/montana/official/RETAIL, unzip, and
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash gpt gpt.bin
fastboot flash dsp adspdo.bin (not sure about this one)
fastboot flash fsg fsg.img (not sure about this one either)
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin

There should be similar named files for dsp and fsg, replace the names in the commands I provided if the names are wrong.

Also please don't forget to make a backup of Persist and Modem Cache in TWRP.

Thanks:

This option only triggers the Ambient Display, which is different from the lock screen (it is that black screen with minimal icons and a clock which you mentioned.)

This is absolutely normal
That's the Ambient display which is supposed to be triggered in that exact scenario
