Is rooting possible (need it to try and hide custom rom from MS work apps)? More of a Lineageos question but tried Magisk by following this (https://www.androidweblog.com/root-xiaomi-poco-f4-magisk-without-twrp/) but that I initially didn't flash boot_b (flashed "boot" only which the output showed "boot_a_ was only flashed) and it boot looped when rebooting after that.

So I then entered fast boot again and tried to flash "boot_a" (completed - again) AND boot_b but boot_b aborted with "fastboot: error: boot partition is smaller than boot image". Stuck in boot loop after that when trying to boot up. Would re-flashing the original boot.img from this Lineageos build likely restore things so the apps/data I had installed so far are installed? I messed up in any case as Magisk recommends wiping apps/data before flashing it but just trying to avoid rebuilding if possible.

Edit: OK, so now I understand the purpose of the two slots (wish they weren't referred to as "partitions" on some sites). I've likely hosed both. But I would like to know if Magisk is supported by this Lineageos build before rebuilding?

Thanks buddy, actually the requirements are just too big form me so i dont have any intention on making it official but madmax would make los official till los gets official i'll be providing updates

Sorry to say, but the vanilla version in combination with microg is not usable.
Installation and all checkmarks in microg OK, but all apps that require play services don't work and show the "play services not installed" error.
With CalyxOS no such problems.

I understand it's not polite to ask ETA from FOSS projects but still, when will LOS get released officially?

I've been hearing that "It'll get released pretty soon" for weeks now but still there no word from the main developer. I mean, look at Vinc3nt, he's here active in the forums answering our questions, telling us what he's doing for the next release and sharing bugs and issues he's facing... y'know it's nice to have this.

Nobody has no clue about this Madmax7896 guy or what he's doing for the official LOS release. SebaUbuntu (an experienced and prominent LOS developer) was initially going to release LOS for 'munch' but later decided not to after Xiaomi pissed him off. Few months later, he posted on his Telegram channel that he is willing to help out anyone who's looking to build LOS for this device. So, is Madmax7896 taking his help, what problems are withholding an official release, any builds been submitted to LOS Team for review - nobody knows. And clearly things aren't working out if a "pretty soon" release is months of silence.

I am tired of this stupid device. Neither StandAlone (SA) 5g works nor the company is bothered to provide updates. All we have are sh!t ROMs that nobody should bother using. This is sad, very disappointing.

I can understand how you're felling right now, i did try to take things into my hands by asking madmax if i could maintain los officially but he told me how i could get rejected and i have to say chances of me getting rejected is more than getting accepted though he didn't mention and eta, hope he soon releases
