This is an unofficial build of XOSP Nougat for S4 Mini 3G (GT-I9190), DS (GT-I9192), LTE (GT-I9195), and USC (SCH-R890) only.

The ROM is now based on AOSP-CAF (changed over from Lineage) and while nilac maintained as much compatibility with CM hardware as possible, some unexpected bugs are possible. For the same reason build is not the simplest, so do not expect weekly updates. I will try to do my best to update once a month, but no promises.

Code:
[COLOR="red"]#include
/* * Your warranty is now void.
* * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/[/COLOR]

  • What is XOSP?
    • XOSP is an after-market firmware based on CodeAuroraSources (CAF) destinated for a wide range of Android phones. The name stands for the Xperia Open Source Project and the project was initially created by @nilac for the Galaxy S+ (his old device) years ago when back then the ROM was called S+ Reborn. The vision was to create a minimal bloat free ROM which included Sony Xperia specific apps and various tweaks users would expect from a custom ROM.
      S+ Reborn became a success and was eventually ported to different devices so from there it was rebranded to XOSP. Calin worked on the project for 2 years always trying to improve it. Eventually, Because of the fact Lollipop was buggy on his Galaxy S+, he decided to take a break from development until he got his hands on the Zenfone 2 in 2015 and from then he started again the development of XOSP and continued it ever since.

Will try to build an update at least once a month. So far this is the only AOSP-CAF based nougat ROM for our device and it is quite unique so it would be nice to have it as an option. Problem is that because it is CAF based, building it is not a sure thing. I exchanged a few messages with nilac who helped me get going with it, will see how the future goes.
I like this ROM a lot, but AOKP is still my favourite.

You should be able to turn off Ambient display if you don't like it. I didn't look at home button wake option yet.

@csendre Volume buttons doesn't work when display is off. Also camera crashes when I try to make photo with flashlight
I didn't check volume buttons but you are right about the camera. I' am afraid it could be a CAF incompatibility, I'll try to figure something out if I can.
Update: you are right about the volume too. I will ask nilac if it is normal

Volume is now entered as bug in the bug tracker. I received a response which works as a temporary workaround:
"It is caused by the feature that makes the tracks change when volume buttons are long-pressed when the screen is off. Disabling it in the sound settings makes them work again."

A few updates on XOSP: Sources are now updated to 7.1.2_r11; the volume button issue is solved, and the home button wake entered as feature request.
I will hold off for a few more days with an update as nilacis looking into this strange camera issue when taking pictures with flash. Apparently no other device has this problem, yet I don't believe it to be device related as we don't have it on LOS based ROMs
