Could you backport this otg fix to Slim Nougat rom?
Dyneteve achieved otg solution in oreo compiling kernel with GCC upper than 4.9. It's working flawlessly in Lineage 15.1
In nougat, only tioguda solved it compiling kernel with GCC >4.9...so
You could try a "dirty" solution using GZRoms kernel for your respective device. Otg works nice in Validus rom...and some users of H nougat model solved otg using this kernel.

You need a TW ROM like serenity or odyssey. It will never work on nougat aosp/lineage based ROMs. Search the threads its been answered like ten billion times

Hi!
Thanks for this nice ROM, I have a question:
I have Samsung SM-J500F/DS 2015 and the TWRP on my device.
Is my device compatible with this ROM ?

If I understand correctly the process of installing then I have to install the ROM and GAAP through the TWRP?
Correct?

Thanks.

Personally i have not tried this rom before. I am maintaining twrp with a required MM bootloader, as most roms today require that.

I do see that the dev here says LP or MM bootloader, which means that the current twrp, 3.3.1, will (should) work.

Thanks for the reply.
My device has now a stock rom 5.1.1.
Can I now flash my device with this SlimROM?
Also a question:
As I know my mentioned phone is based on an ARM x64 platform. So I should download the ARM x64 gapps pico file. I did it before and tried that and I got an error until the flashing, something like "...this img is not compatible with the device platform...".
So,my question is :
What platform is my SM-J500F/DS ?

Thanks.

Our chipset is a 32/64 compatible, but samsung built on 32, so regular arm gapps will work.

If you get a twrp that will work with 5.1.1, then yes

Ok guys!
I found the twrp-3.0.2.0-20161005-j5ltexx.tar.md5 and installed on my phone.
Working like a charm.
I tried to install from my mem card this SlimROM:
Slim-j5lte-7.1.2.build.1.17-UNOFFICIAL-20171212-1407.zip
But TWRP started the flashing and stuck on:
"Patching system image unconditionally..."

The blue line is full filled like the flashing was ended but no BACK or whatever info about
was the flashing successful or not.
I can just pull out the battery and go to TWRP again.

As described before, my phone is:
SM-J500F/DS with Lollipop 5.1.1 Android.

Any idea what could be the problem?

Thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply but what about this installation guide on that link:

INSTAL GUIDE
- Enable Oem Unlock from Settings
- .tar instal with odin
- .img instal with Rash.apk or Instal with Twrp and select instal image

On which partition should I install the .img file?
- Boot ?
- Recovery ?

Update:
I figured out, the .img should be flashed to the recovery partition.

I did everything right now and installed the SLimROM
but still the same problem, the flashing process will stuck at this point:
"Patching system image unconditionally..."

Thanks.

If still on stock 5.1.1, do the oem unlock. Since you already have a custom recovery, skip that. If the 3.0.2.0 can flash an img to the recovery partition, do that, if not, flash the tar file via odin.

So, here I am:
- OEM unlock - On
- USB debugging - On

I restored my backup what I made with TWRP and the phone is working as before, but I still can't install the SlimROM.
My stock rom already in my phone is 5.1.1 LP.

Any idea why can I not install this SlimROM on my phone?

    • Nothing (you tell me)

    1. How to change the recent system
    2. How to disable the physical keys when activating the virtual keys

Just disable SlimRecents in settings, I'm not sure but I think the rom haven't that option, but you can do it anyway
