So guys fired up the ol Linux box and got RR MM repos to sync (don't ask how it took a few hours) but as soon as I can get all of the crap set up I will hopefully be bringing out a new build stay tuned (and cross out fingers that Linux will cooperate)

Questions (that I know will be asked if you don't fallow the RR 7.1.2 page)

Q. Where is the Android-N release?
A. Due to a bucket load of issues we simply could not get it to work.

Q. Will we see Android-O?
A. As it stands not at the moment but I do believe all focus is on getting Android-P going

Q. Where is Android-P?
A. Currently a WIP no promises on anything though

Q. How did you compile RR-MM?
A. Hours of editing and playing with repositories (it wasn't easy don't try it)

Q. When will we see a new build?
A. Hopefully Linux will behave itself along with the shield so things will go smoothly.

Q. Will we see any custom kernels?
A. I have no idea I will try with some internal testing to see biggest thing for me would be to try to make the kernel more preformance based but no promises as I've never built a kernel for this device.

Q. What build is the most recent and runs?
A. Currently that would be Build (RR-M v5.7.4-20161015-roth) the build isnt the most optimized build but I can confirm still running that build some tweaking in the kernel tool may help but unfortunately until Linux and the shield want to play nice I can only keep trying.

Please stay tuned I apologise for the delay in builds I wasn't able to get RR-M sources until yesterday so a new build is a WIP also I apologise for the issues with Android N and O and unfortunately I don't know if we will ever see those so I will try to roll out a M build again and hopefully we can get P going and have that out when we can again no promises and stay tuned

How's it hanging? Are the boot issues solved?

Cheers dude!

Thanks for your hard work :)
Sadly 6.0.1 is broken something in the actual source is missing currently I am working towards pie development but we are running into issues with that so still currently learning and trying to fix issues with pie sadly I have no updates on that as well since that is a current WIP but I am working on some projects for this device

I wouldn't say we are 100% working together but we do talk about the device most of my testing is "in house" testing but Roth is a pretty long project and I'm also working on some other projects as well so even though we are working on Roth it is not the main project for either one of us

Guys sadly all of my projects are on hold at this point my laptop went down and I'm currently building a computer to replace my laptop but it is definitely an odd time to start a build with all new hardware hitting the market stay tuned I'll let you all know how it goes and I'll post pictures when I am back

Project Insentive

Hey, I'm interested in this project, would be willing to donate too. For Android 9 especially. I have a shield laying around that I'm even designing a dock for. Consider taking donations to help you

Hey man! i appreciate the work you've done over the years.

Really hoping you havent done away with this project, id love to see 7.1.2 , ATV or android 9 up and running.

If you're still going id gladly donate to the cause & become a test subject

I am definitely still going at this it's definitely still broken currently I have pulled the OTA source thanks to some others helping me pull it trying to get legacy drivers to work unofficially supported isn't the easiest thing to do but if anyone knows how to get gnu make 3.82 to install on newer versions of ubuntu (20.04lts I believe) that would allow me to test a modified stock

here's a tutorial for it https://itsubuntu.com/install-gnu-compiler-collection-gcc-on-ubuntu-20-04-lts/

Also the roms themselves boot, theres only issues after using any gapps package. do we know whats wrong with gapps?
