LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 17.1 (Q), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Reporting Bugs
  • DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
  • If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log

Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

Works perfectly on my phone. The only problem is minor. When set any camera app to save photos on an external SD, the photos don't show up in Gallery or Google Photos unless I reboot. Other than that it works perfectly and I get the same battery life as 16.
Well done!

What's working :

Since Lineage doesn't support SU add-on anymore, what do you recommend for root access for those wanting to go that route.
Thanks for dedicated and hard work:good:

Great news, thanks a lot for this work!!

Any reason why this build is not displayed yet on the official Lineage OS website? Is it stable enough for a daily usage?
> I am wondering if I erase my current Lineage OS 16 to switch to this 17.1 :)

For what it's worth, I switched from 16 to 17.1 and using my phone as a daily driver.
Everything works, no hiccups yet with any of the apps or functions that I use.
Very snappy ROM for an old device when compared to my S10.
The only minor difference I can see is battery life ,but I haven't been able to quantify the difference since I've only been using the ROM sjnce yesterday.
Again for me, not enough to make me switch back to 16

Just fooling around for a day and found a stable and snappy rom with some issues. Auto rotate not working, pictures are not saved in any folder, can't download from xda app, TB forceclosed. I'm surprised about the stability. Very fine handwork from @Stricted and partners.

Works with another camera. TB issues fixed.

yea sealinux striked again
here is a new build with working sensors https://mega.nz/file/cFoFUZgB#pKQeaWXcVcauPKdRb3S7i1A87djDoVspvlts0lUDw1I

Allready found it in your and @danwood76 signature. ;)

Donated a few bucks for more coffee. ;)

Any plans to go official? And if so, would it be possible to switch dirty from the unofficial builds? I'm very happy with the official LOS 16 atm, using my S5Neo as business device.

Greetz,
