The guy we got the RIL shim from has no clue what's wrong and it seems to be difficult to send him my tablet for testing due to customs... I think it's still funny that Bluetooth has the same problems. In the end it's just a one liner and no one can find it...
@LuK1337, when you have some time to spend, can you add T719XXU2BRB2 and T819XXU2BRB2 bootloader to supported list? Same for the fingerprint, T819XXU2BQD3 (only BQD1 seems to exist) seems to be not liked by Google SafetyNet.

I asked you months ago to push change to gerrit, I'm still waiting for one.

Probably just a stupid question but why the XDA: DevDB Information is "LineageOS 15.1 for Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 LTE (2016), ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2" whilst the Androidfilehost page says "Downloads for : Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7"?

Afaik the 9.7 is SM-T815.

Second question (sorry if it's considered OT): the TWRP page mentions Odin 3.10.7 but the latest is 3.12.10. Is it possibile to use the latest release?

I still have my tablet fully original and I have no experience in modding Samsung devices; from what I have been able to gather I have to:

  • install Odin;
  • connect the tablet;
  • put the tablet in download mode (how?);
  • flash twrp with Odin;
  • boot in recovery;
  • flash ROM, root add-on, gapps;
  • wipe data;
  • reboot.

Is that OK?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, that is correct, but remember to download twrp from twrp official web, so you can download twrp 3.2.0-1 which is the one working for our tab, then follow the steps you describe and then you will enjoy easily the best tablet ever, the rom is smooth as hell, battery lasts twice than stock rom, the developers went big with this rom.

To put the tablet in download mode, power off the device and press home button, volume down and power button at the same time.

With Odin, always use the latest one.

With the rom name question, it just works on our tablet, if your model number is t719, there are six models of the tab s2, the exynoss wifi 9.7 (t813), exynoss 4g 9.7 (t815), snapdragon 652 4g 9.7 (t819), exynoss wifi 8.0 (t713), exynoss 4g (t715) and our model, the snapdragon 652 8.0 4g (t719), hope that clears your questions.

Do you mean that I can use the latest Odin to flash the latest TWRP? Sorry but I want to double check.

Yes, you just need to fix audio for me :3
:laugh: That's extremely unlikely, I'm sorry. As much as I would like to be able to help, I'm afraid i'm simply not good at Android programming.

The ROM is good and stable, why not just promoting it to the official state with a warning? I don't think that many people are going to use the tablet as a phone... It seems to me a very minor limitation.
