I come from 2.21, but for some reason, I can not get into Recovery after rooting with SuperOneClick. The phone reboots, and I just keep a blank screen.

please make sure usb-debugging is deactivated before booting into recovery.
I had the same problem, found the solution in the original recovery thread.

turn off usb debugging
I will try in a moment. Thank you for the suggestion.

*update* It's taking longer than expected.. for some reason, the system is *very* sluggish and unstable. Processes seem to lock up / hang and Android wants to close them. I can choose wait and it will move along, but it's anything but usable.

I'm trying to get into the Recovery boot now.

*update* Okay, made it into Recovery.

Guys i would probably flash the 2.34 sbf first, but then again it may well be ok. There's no way of testing individual builds apart from the people that have them, so you may well be the guinea pigs here

Hm.. Where exactly do I put the zip file to restore with Recovery? Putting it into goaprev/backup does not allow it to be selected. And choosing it as an update zip does not seem to work - it's stuck on 'Installing Update'.

*update* Heading back to 2.21, I do not have the time now to get this working and I need my phone tomorrow.

sounds like your using motorolas recovery when you should be using the custom recovery

Hey mate you are caning people for not reading but you are not reading lol:p

"Extract the Higgsy_Modded_2.2CN folder from the zip file you downloaded. Place on your SD card in the goapkrev/backup/ folder (along with your previous backups)"

Ah, I see. My mistake then ;)

That said, I was not blaming anyone, I just said I did not have time now to get it working.

I will try again tomorrow after work, thank you for the prompt reply.

Flash Issue Update

I have spent the most of today trying to trackdown this Flash bug and while can't pin it down (like looking for a needle in a haystack.) I have found a moethod that works to get it back for me. Its seems it is all in the method...

So from 2.2 chinese, or my modded rom

1)power phone down
2)press Power +vol Down, then when the warning triangle comes up press bottom right of the screen to get into stock recovery.
3)clear data/cache
4)Select the reboot option in recovery while holding vol up, to get into bootloader
5)Flash the 2.34 No Blur Eclair ROM
6)Once flashed, root via z4root and install clockworkmod
7)boot into clockwork mod and install Higgsy_Modded_2.2CN
8)Once installed reboot now - it will fail and stick at the moto screen - pull the battery
9)Hold power+vol up to get back into bootloader
10) flash the 2.2 Chinese ROM
11)Once Flashed reboot
12)Once rebooted root using the superoneclick method then reboot
13)install recovery then reboot
14)Go into backup/restore and choose advanced, then choos the Higgsy Modded folder, then choose to install the system only.
15)once completed reboot
16) test Camera.

I have power on/off 5 times and used the flash about 100 times (no **** lol) and its still working. I do however think that performing a backup/restore may well break it again.

Oh yeah would like to thank Adlx for having a cool discussion bout this this afternoon def helped me along

Thanks for this mate, I followed your instructions to the letter but I still get the exact same flash problem.

Still, nice blank canvas to run 2.2 with no chinese writing :) Cheers!
