Thanks for this mate, I followed your instructions to the letter but I still get the exact same flash problem.

Still, nice blank canvas to run 2.2 with no chinese writing :) Cheers!
I followed exactly the new guide, but I'm still having this problem too. What a stupid bug...

Had you ever been on 2.51 Eclair rom in the past, as if you have and the process doesn't work the 2.51 screws things up. I have done the process twice now with this ROM and my own personal backup and is working fine, but I never flashed 2.51.

apps arent paid when i get them.. i wiped then restored to this rom. was hoping for the paid apps to be working :c
Paid apps are working for me, DRM protected apps are not (not a big deal though, its to do with google not recognising this Chinese ROM), but from what I've seen in other threads you have been on/come from 2.51 in the past, so no doubt that is causing some issues.

I followed exactly the new guide, but I'm still having this problem too. What a stupid bug...
Again have you have been on 2.51 Eclair ROM in the past? I have amended the guide a little as though it could be misunderstood.

Do you have links to the other roms that you are referencing to Higgsy?
Maybe you have some preferred ones?
High speed links would be awesome. :)
Not sure what you mean to be honest, if its links to the .sbf's in the guide then I have added these.

isn't swype included?

Hi Higgsy,

Thanks for sharing your rom!!, I am testing it right now and everything is OK so far, just I cannot see swype anywhere... isn't it installed with this froyo version? Have you tried to get and install it from somewhere?

No swype isn't included in the Chinese Froyo, stock wise there is some shady moto keyboard, which I removed. You'll have to get swype from the market or you may be able to pull it from the 2.1 rom, although, its not as simple as just installing the apk.

No, I've never been on 2.51, always used 2.34. But I tried to flash first 2.21, than 2.2 and follow your guide. That didn't help too... Maybe my problem is related to the camera fixes, what I tried before from another topic.

Hi again,

I have followed the guide and my flash camera is working, ok I just tried the camera a few times but all of them worked.

I think Market is not working, I can get in and search but when the download starts it stays at 0% downloading... is that normal? maybe do I have to uninstall/reinstall it?

Thanks!

You tried those fixes after the new method I posted? I think the key thing here is if you've never been on 2.51, don't flash those fixes for sure - I have it working wothout the fixes x- Its all in the method I'm sure

I used those fixes before trying your ROM and method, I didn't mix those fixes with your ROM (wiped cache and data, flashed a clean ROM before applying your ROM). So probably the fixes are responsible for my problem. :(

I flashed those a while back - they shouldn't cause an issue. Did you wipe data by clockworkmod recovery?

Sure I did, did everything exactly as you described, didn't miss anything. I think I'm gonna skip this problem for now till somebody finds a general solution. :)

Superb work Higgsy, thanks for your dedication! :D

I'm backing-up my phone now (2.21), and i'm gonna make my first try of this chinese froyo!

I sure hope that you guys will also make us do the transition to 2.3, when this 2.2 is made complete and stable ! :)

Edit: about the cpu clock, to make your speeds work, we need to install the setscaling.sh file manually, right?

Pleasure to do it to be fair mate. Please follow the guide in the OP to the last letter.

The setscaling scripts/milestone overclock are already included configured, so should work out the box, providing you don't wipe data because that will wipe the milestone overclock settings.

I don't think there will ever be a general solution to be fair, but hope there maybe is - its a crappy bug. I believe it has someing to do with another partition that gets flashed, the problem is we've got so many people coming from so many different firmwares, it VERY hard to pin point.
