@ westwood24 - Thanks so much for this zip! Rooted stock is the way to go on this phone, works a treat!!
Any chance we could get a 20E zipfile version at some point?
I see it there.Your android file host appear empty suddenly. Any hope of getting back a us998 zip?
If you have bootloader unlock and TWRP installed, yes.
If you have bootloader unlock and TWRP installed, yes.
This is TWRP flashable version of US998 Oreo 20D.
US998 on Nougat 10c CAN have bootloader unlock and TWRP - - but only if you use the LG official bootloader unlock code. I used that on one of my US988 V30...
Otherwise, use the WTF INSTRUCTIONS to upgrade to specific OREO firmware to then unlock your bootloader and install TWRP:
https://xdaforums.com/lg-v30/how-to/wtf-lg-v30-t3790500
If you don't want to unlock your bootloader and install TWRP, then see the regular US998 KDZ thread to update to latest Oreo through LGUP:
https://xdaforums.com/lg-v30/development/us998-lg-v30-us998-us99820a040330-kdz-t3786337
You don't say what your goal is, so I'm guessing.
Yes. Everything will be factory reset when unlocking bootloader.I successfully installed Oreo 2a using LGUP method. Yay. Next step I want to UBL and root using the WTF method. But first, I need to backup my data because UBL will erase everything, right?
Yes. Because if you want to root, you'll need TWRP and have to reformat your data partition to get rid of encryption using TWRP. Back up everything. Hell, back up photos and music too just to be safe. Once you unlock BL and root and get everything going, you can flash the 20D upgrade in TWRP if you wish to be more up to date. You can dirty flash it over 20a.I successfully installed Oreo 2a using LGUP method. Yay. Next step I want to UBL and root using the WTF method. But first, I need to backup my data because UBL will erase everything, right?
I think the link is error or dead. No mirrors to be found.
"OOPS!
no mirrors found."
The link works. What you are saying is right now AFH is reporting no mirrors found. Try a different AFH region server. Turn off VPN, as that interferes sometimes.
Why are you trying to download it? US998 20D is old and you don't need it. The Oreo update instructions say to flash 20e, 20f, 20g, 20h TWRP-flashable zips. They do not mention D at all, because it's not needed. There was major changes with 20f and onwards, and you need 20e as good base.
If for some reason you DO need 20d, for some reason I don't know and has nothing to do with any instructions I have written, there's now a mirror for 20d on the US998 Oreo KDZ post #1:

What are the chances of getting a TWRP flashable version of 20E?
Westwood24 has graced us with TWRP flashables in the past. Don't know if that's something that will happen with 20E. Maybe not as there aren't major changes from the 20D build.
I dirty flashed over 20b, and then re-flashed stable magisk. That's all. No need to flash additional two zips, as westwood24 dealt with it in the rom.@westwood24
Thanks very much for the effort & hope you are well (re Hospital).
When I converted to H988 and then rooted, I also needed to flash a script to remove RCTD as well as a no-verity script.
Under features, you make a reference to verity. Does that mean those that root don't need to flash no-verity anymore?
Will we still need to flash rcdt after rooting?
Thanks again!
For most people it doesn't actually fail, it just gives cryptic message like "No valid response" but still is hidden from Android Pay, etc.I have just completed a dirty flash from 20A to 20D and followed up with Magisk 16.0.
I noticed that the safetynet check fails in the Magisk Manager. I can't recall for sure if it was failing before?
Regardless, Google Pay and my banking app both open, so at first glance it doesn't appear to be blocking anything.
