Nova launcher. I'm guessing there's some sort of conflict. It's fine, I was just testing it out, I don't tend to use live wallpapers.

Strange, all of the live wallpapers are working here with nova launcher with latest nightly. Did you factory reset when you first installed cm12.1?

You mean you flashed cm12.1 without wiping cm12 right? I wanna try cm12.1 but don't want to wipe everything.

I did a nandroid backup in TWRP then flashed cm12.1 20150523 over cm12 20150405. Followed the advise on another site. CMs page says it should be possible and its their intention this should work Just make sure to flash 5.1 gapps at the same time. But backup first just in case. Currently no issues with the OS or gapps.

Live wallpapers also fine here after dirty flash to 20150523 from CM12 using Nova launcher.

@Deltadroid Can we flash the selinux patch to force permissive mode at boot with CM12.1?

Yes, I'm also using the patch for permissive mode with stock cm12.1 kernel. Loki to bumped permissive kernel.

Yes, I tried to avoid it but force close meant I did a full wipe after first 12.1 ROM. Did a dirty flash to 2304 and still the same. No idea of the cause as I don't have anything special running (not using root apps).

I was fed up with the reboots on stock LP. I think it was because of Folder Mount. I moved all games to external SD.
So yesterday I chose CM12.1. So far so good. Except auto rotation. That just stopped after starting Need for Speed. The car steered to the right and kept on going. Now rotation isn't working anymore. After I've configured some more I'll try a reboot.

Gesture typing was not working with AOSP keyboard on 20150422 and 20150423 nightly. Had to install Google keyboard to have it back.

Gesture typing is probably disabled because even though the gesture part can be enabled, the word search part has not been included in aosp. The only way to get the stock aosp keyboard fully working with gesture typing is to replace the open source system keyboard library with Google's closed source version.

I am using Google launcher with Red Kernel 17 bumped and 4.4.2 base.

BTW, live wallpapers works for my installation.

I have had only 1 blank screen lockup since I was playing with the 5/26 nightly. I will update my experience should I encounter another one. Otherwise, this nightly appears to be more stable, although my keyboard response while typing this posting is laggy.

I just had another blank screen while generating my airline ticket online. I am switching to my laptop to feel more comfortable that my transaction will complete.

Maybe this black screen bug only shows up when using certain applications. I've not had another black screen since updating to latest build, although,I don't have much installed.

I had the 2 blank screens when using USA Today and the built in browser when I was trying to to do an airline online check in. I cannot thnk of any other setting that might be contributing to this issue about screen blanking.

I will update to today's nightly to see if it gets better for my installation.

The gapps I'm using is replacing most of the stock aosp applications. The stock email client, exchange client, calendar, keyboard, web browser, text to speech, quick search box, launcher, stock music player are all replaced with Google's versions using my Delta Gapps packages. I'm not sure if that makes a difference either.

I've updated post #5 with instructions using the terminal to fix installing games from the Amazon app store (instead of patching the framework to get the unmount button back).

I did a full wipe, including system, then switched to 4.2.2 base prior to installing the 4/26 nightly & 5.1 basic gapps. I encountered another blanking of the screen when reading the BBC News article.

Sorry but I forgot to install/test with the Google launcher. Unfortunately, I already wiped the installation & switched back to 4.4.2 base with Redkernel 17 bumped.
