Works fine on a UK defy but you have to copy the etc\motorola\bp_nvm_default folder over from a UK ROM to get the 2G radio working correctly.

I thought it was very obvious what I was referring to as I quoted it in my first post. I re-quote it for your sake:
"Assume that you do NOT have permission to modify this rom in any way"

I am very sure HandlerExploit himself knows what I was talking about.
And to be honest, how many people have you seen charging for a ROM? There was one case I can remember but he made his own website trying to sell a modded ROM.
Even people that have spent more hours than we can imagine modding ROMs for the sake of the open source community without either closing it or charging for it (cyanogen etc.) still allows people to modify and make it better. Then what is the reason for something like this to be closed (especially when it seems like this is genuinegood ROM that could lead to an even better)? That is what I mean, to work for the right causes and not for your ego.

My intention is not to make the HandlerExploit nor this ROM look bad, actually the opposite (otherwise I wouldn't have bother to write this), but to make him work for the community.

Keep reporting how the ROM works guys:)
Once again you are missing the big picture, just recently it was shown that a person was taken apps from xda forums and selling them right off. And people do donate money to rom-makers, so if someone would just copy this room to, lets say a russian web page and say that he did it, he could still earn a few bucks.

But the most important issue is this: Why do you care about it? Do you want to use this rom as a base for something else? If yes then contact Handler and discuss how to solve the problem. He is working for the community, he is releasing this rom free for everyone to enjoy.

I would rather say the opposite, you are missing the big picture. Is it really worth stopping a few people if any at all earning a couple of bucks (we're not talking big money here) and stop the development of the Android community?
Imagine if everyone would have this attitude to ROM-cooking. Then every person had to start from scratch, inventing the wheel over, and over again. Every "fix" or improvement someone made to a the Android code would be just for him or her. Do you really think that would be better? No, NOOO and NOOOOO! That is not what XDA is about, neither is the Android Open Source Project. People would still admire and pay as much respect to the maker of the ROM if it would be released "open source". And saying that people are "stealing the hard work"? Come on, haven't heard a more silly thing this year. Then every one is "stealing the hard work" from everyone on the open source world?

Why do I care? Why does a webpage like XDA-developers.com exist at all? Because people care about the things that interest them, and want to make it better. I already said what I think is the idea behind XDA. And for discussions like this to come about:)

I love the work you guys put in behind all the work you do, just give other people a chance of improving it.

Since you do not really want to listen to me I'll make a last comment about this, and try to make it really clear, the rest we can take on PM:

Who is handler stopping by releasing the rom the way he does? You decide to ignore the fact that there is theoretical chance that someone will make a profit from his work, while at the same assuming that the theoretical chance that he is stopping development is bigger. While both of these have equal priority.
Where is the line of mods who he is stopping? What development is he stopping?

But the biggest point that you are still ignoring is the fact that Handler will most likely be very helpful to the mod who want to use his ROM as reference as long as that mod asks Handler about it.

It's not about stopping development, if he would truly want to stop development he would not release it publicly, like he now does, there is nothing stopping you from taking his ROM and doing what ever you want to it, except for what Handler asked of YOU. So Handler is indeed contributing to the development of Android, but he wants to retain control over what he sees is his work, so that it will not be misused.

Just to close this off even further, assuming that you are correct and that this violates the XDA idea, take a look on how the ROM got to XDA forums, it was not handler who linked to it, it was another user. If this is so against XDA policies and it stops development, why have it here in the first place? Handler did not ask for it.

Finally, there is no point in debating this further since it does not matter what I or You belive, it's Handlers work and he will do what he wants to it.

HI,

many thanks for this rom, but camera's flash doesn't work.

I've alreadey tried all camera fix found on this forum, and nothing's working, i get only one time flash working (but to faster) and nothing else.

Could anyone provide a valid fix ? for example, no problem with Higgsys_Modded_2.2CN

thanks.

OK I repeated this in every thread but seems as though people dont read.
This is a camera fix created by Bihariel so all credits to him. This is a zip file so just unzip it and then you get a sbf file. Now flash this using RSDlite and voila everything in the camera/flash works. This fix can be applied to any ROM you use. Now i am using this wonderful vanilla rom and this fix works like a gem.
Kudos to Bihariel and Handlerexploit again.

I think that for people coming from 2.51 is not that easy :X

It was made for people coming from 2.51 but i accidently found out that it worked on every rom no matter where you came from. Actually i think its just camera patch and has nothing to do with the bootloaders and firmware of 2.1v

Who is he stopping by releasing the ROM the way he does? Have you really thought about this? Do you seriously think the people that want to steal someone's apps/ROMs and make a profit out of it from a russian website cares if it says that you do not have permission to modify it in any way? If they don't modify it at all and just sell it the way it is, they are not even violating his "license", but they surely wouldn't care at all even if they modified the **** out of it. But who is he really stopping? The people on the forum who wants to take something good and make it better, just like himself, who actually cares if it says that they are not allowed to modify it.
And if it is like you assume that he will allow other people to modify it and distribute a ROM/fix/whatever based on this ROM, then this whole debate is unnecessary. But then why write the complete opposite in bold red text in the original post?

* Still no Facebook contacts sync (I would really love to have that)
* Camera not working (will try the fix tomorrow)

I've tried this step to solve my flash probleme :

- wipe data and cache
- flash back to eclair 2.34 deblur rom (original rom) with sbf
- root and install recovery
- wipe data and cache
- restore the vanilla rom
- flash boot only 2.2 sbf
- boot with vanilla rom
- flash with camera fix with sbf

=> camera flash work only one time.

Actually, only the Higgsys_Modded_2.2CN rom is working well for me with camera flash working (following his step)

When you say wipe, how did you do it. I have a strong feeling that doing a wipe from the stock recovery (vol down+power) will reset everything. Then the fix sbf for camera can be flashed. At least this is how mine worked every time with every ROM.
