So I installed the latest build yesterday, clean install with supersu and prime kernel. Everything was going smoothly then it crashed (rebooted) when I was uninstalling an app. I attached the last_kmsg.log hope it helps.
Download Deathly Adiutor App from playstore, open it and go to CPU section, change governor to adaptive.
It extends the battery life and the reboots are history ... :good:

BTW,
I took a look at your ksmg.log and even if I can not tell you what the reason for the reboot was, it is noticeable that your CPU is often working at the temperature limit.
I have below 4 screenshots (CPU/GPU OC and throttlingpoint settings) attached. With these settings you will not get temperatures above 70°C without noticeable power loss. Even after playing 3h of RealRacing3(or any other heavy game), the temps remain constant below 70°C.
It has only effect on benchmarks ...
Positiv side effect if you stictly use adaptive governor: no reboots/freezes anymore and better battery runtimes because of less temperature related leakage currents!!!:good:

So I applied all your kernel settings, and it works great with good battery life. However, when I started a graphics heavy game it stuttered and lagged pretty much the whole time. I had to change to an Interactive based kernel to keep it smooth.

That being said I haven't had any reboots in 24 hours already so I'll be sticking to this rom :)

If it lags try smartmax, darkness or intelliactive governor also. Adaptive governor aggressively scales down to lower energy cumsumption but should scale up when needed. Maybe it's a bit game depending because most of them are made to work with interactive.. RealRacing3 works fine here with adaptive, smartmax, darkness.
I had to tweak interactive neatly to get satisfying battery runtimes. In addition, sometimes a CPU lock occurs, which keeps the CPU frequencies to maximum. So, have a look on this behavior.
BTW, a simple reboot will fix it.

Stupid question of me, but how can you change the governor with prime? In the original AICP ROM you can use the adiutor app, but how about prime? It does not work with prime kernel, doesn't it?

It works with prime, ignore the message that it doesn't, prime is based on deathly kernel to ensure full compatibility, the only reason deathly adiutor warns you is because the Kernel name isn't deathly, or the name of ShevT's kernel

Whats the best setting for audio quality in hi mode of sound its very bad speakers going to explode?
Hi tnrnr!
Install Deathly Adiutor(link, 1. page) go to speaker section and play a bit with the settings.
Below are my settings but If you rather hear loudly, I'd recommend to push the cutoff frequencies of band 1 and 2 not that high like me to avoid distortions.
My settings are more optimized for videos/voices to get subjectively better experience.
Unfortunately, the speakers are of subterranean bad quality and even ViperV4A is not able to elicit better sounds from the speakers.

Hell In A handbasket

EVERYTHING with this build has gone right to crap. I'm trying to save my log files, but EVERY DAM time I THINK that I have installed a log capture app that is supposed to save the log files as .zip format for posting, the APPS JUST VANISH! Yep, had several, tested and working and POOF they are gone.
While my more recent installs were dirty, I did do a full wipe and install two versions ago.
I am getting lockups, freezes, and blank screens. But now my pen input has deteriorated to the point that even typing these few lines is difficult. Random, characters changed, respelled, etc. And I don't use any king of "smart" correction software to do that. So, BEFORE I PULL what little hai I have left, could someone please repost the logcat app that is supposed to work? It is supposed to collect the lastdmesage file, and log, compress them into a postable zip format. Yet, I keep getting the app screwed up or just lost. And, YES I am losing my s**t!
Too many things that I have no control over happening in my life as well. ;-DeanoD

Well, I've cleaned out a LOT of excess crap files, and have once again found the SysLog app that I was looking for. But, before I successfully flashed this last OTA, not much was working right. I did a full wipe a few builds back, and the lockups and freezes just got worse and more often. Google Play is having hissy fits whenever I try to dowload and install any apps. This build, so far has fixed that..(?) But, the input from my pen was right bonkers. Random added characters, and it was like it no longer understood English.. If you've ever has an over enthisiastic "predictive" keyboard app, you'll know what I mean. But, I had no such amnimal ON my tablet!
Maybe it's possessed! (more likely re-possessed in my case). I have a question about pen input. I cannot figure out HOW to turn off the "select text" feature. The one with the quote thingies that you drag and separate to select text. Anyway, HOW is it turned on and off? Because, it's a feature I WOULD LIKE to use, but I would also REALLY like to shut it OFF! PITA when you are trying to just make a spelling correction. Most of the pen input setting that l've seen either don't work at all, or they don't do what they are supposed to. I have access to Pen Command as well.
Sorry for the rant, but this build is working fine so far. And I can at least save the log files in the event of a crash. ;-DeanoD

I installed latest nightly, and got into a real sticky boot loop to the recovery, where it won't even load that. thinking I might have to flash stock and start over, but any other tricks i could before doing that? tried flash different version of recovery thru odin but nothing.

If you are flashing via OTA, be patient, the entire process takes a long time to finish. Depending on how you are flashing, there are several things you could try. I am finding that if I flash without a full wipe, my system (tablet) gets too much crap in it. Then I do a full wipe in recovery. Even when I run OTA updates, I have backups of at least one previous build that worked successfully. Also, are you running Magisk and a current version? Try reflashing the build with a full wipe. Sometimes ya just gotta. ;-DeanoD

I can't even access twrp to clean flash. it just boots to the twrp for like 2 seconds then reboots. I'm only able to access download mode without it resetting.

* flashed a older custom recovery, got to install older build and booted fine.

Hey Deano!
At first, change the CPU governor to "adaptive" to avoid issues like freezes or reboots. I had not a single freeze/reboot, also with spen in use, for the last 2 weeks, so adaptive should be also your preferred governor!
The rest sounds really strange to me, especially your spen issues.
If you often switch betweens different roms (oreo, marchmellow) you should also wipe the internal storage!
Some leftovers from previous installs can have bad impact to your current setup.
Save your important files on the external sdcard.
I would recommend to start with a "real clean" flash and wipe all partitions except externalSD.(cache, dalvik, data, system, internalSD

Syslog works great, BTW and I would recommend to flash rom updates always manually to avoid issues. And do not forget, always check md5checksums!!!

Still trying to post SysLog file dump after a crash. FULL WIPE. Current ROM, everthing else is right up-to-date. Running kernel as Interactive in DA. STILL getting freeze-ups that require a forced reboot. Still trying to sort out keyboard issues with random gibberish as if some one had a Bluetooth connection. Seems ok for now. Not specific to one keyboard app. Not a virus. May just be my Tab is getting tasted in her old age. Maybe its more the miles I put on her. AND, so far 3 different browsers have refused to let me upload a zip file as an attachment. Logs look to me to show a spike in the charging cycle, but what do I know?
Here's hoping that Firefox will let me post. CHROME crapped out when I tried it.
;-DeanD ......nope, it seems that this site is only looking for a PC to allow uploads.....

it's seems many of my apps (xoxo pdf editor and titanium backup in particular) cannot access the external SD card... I've enabled give all apps access to external SD card in the developer options but it doesn't help... is there a known fix/workaround?
