I'm getting a Z3 Tablet Compact LTE today, should help Z3 and Z3c development ;)

Have fun with it, it's such a great piece of hardware! So light, perfectly sized, feels great in the hand... :D

I hope it will gain the popularity it deserves...

Same like in the Z3 Topic - thank you for your efforts. But this thread should be renamed to Alpha. Beta implies at least the rudimentary functions (Camera, LTE, GPS, Phone, WiFi) are available for me. Will give it a chance if it becomes usuable for Beta Testing.

I think that all efforts have been moved to the porting of cm12

What makes you say that? FXP's (empty and abandoned) thread?

Anyways, I've been lurking around the Z3 (leo) forum the past few weeks and recently saw a few people suggesting using some libs from stock inside Lollipop (be it CM or AOSP); some of them report a working RIL after that.
Would any brave soul who has the time like to test this on our Aries (if anyone's already running Lollipop -- which I doubt -- I can pull the lib files from my stock-ish Z3C and paste them here)?

May I ask why the development has come to a (almost) complete halt.? The latest git commit was more than 3 weeks ago, and FXP hasn't really let themselves hear either. I'm just looking for a 5.0 build with a working modem, I can deal with crashes and things like that.

I might be hugely underestimating the work that goes into this of course, but the deafening silence in the Aries development forums just makes me uneasy and makes me doubt if Z3C development will ever take of?

It's December. Holidays and all that.
Though I do agree with Burakki; there is some activity going around the githubs and stuff. You'll have to dig pretty deep to find any of it tho.

Also our device doesn't seem to be called Aries in the CM trees but rather Z3C (similar to how Z3 isn't Leo). I guess "first come, first serve" principle works in the open source community :p

    Hello everyone,

    I present to you Android 5.0 AOSP for Xperia Z3 Compact. This is for the people that can't wait to see how lollipop looks like on Z3 Compact.

    == Project status ==
    Working:
    - Bluetooth
    - Wifi
    - NFC??
    - LED
    - Texting
    - Calling (outgoing without mic maybe, you tell me)
    - Sound
    - Sensors
    - Auto-Brightness
    - Vibration
    - Screen/Touch
    - SELinux
    - everything that's not in the "not working list"

    Not working:
    - Camera
    - Mobile Data?
    - Mic on calling??
    - Youtube Video Playback
    - GPS
    - ....

    == Updates ==
    I'm working on fixing bugs and making this rom a daily driver. This might take some time though.

    == Download ==
    Download all files from the correct device folder, userdata and cache can be found in the common-files directory, system and kernel are in the version directories :)
    - Rom: Xperia Z3c AOSP 5.0 Beta v2.0
    - Gapps can be found in the main directory ;)

    == Already on this rom?? ==
    No need to wipe data unless I tell it in the thread :)
    - Just flash system.img and boot.img using fastboot.
    - Don't forget to flash gapps by hotbooting a kernel with recovey ;)

    == Installation instructions: ==
    - Wipe userdata in recovery
    - flash all 3 partitions using fastboot
    Don't do this when you don't know what you are doing!!

    You can flash gapps with any kernel with recovery. Just flash back the AOSP kernel to boot into device afterwards :)

    Battery life isn't superb, but could be because of the bugs which are draining battery since some functions don't work correctly yet.

    Anyway an update with modem fixed will come tonight :)
