Hey everyone, new here,

Can someone just explain to me why Onyx 6 r14 has such a high battery drain on my Elfin? I used to use this rom:

which is WM6.5. Onyx 5 is WM6.5 also and it has the highest power consumption. Onyx 6 had better power consumption than 5 so shouldn't it use less power?? When overclocked at 299mhz on my previous rom, my device only used ~230mA max but now it uses up to 500mA! I'm using 2 batteries a day...Is there any way to reduce power usage?

EDIT: I forgot to add, everytime I boot my phone, at the windows logo I get some message saying that windows couldn't boot or something along those lines but if i cancel it, it still works fine. Any ideas?

I didn't have this problem, maybe the conjunction of 6.5 and hspl isn't optimal for you, try to follow recommended settings in first posts. Hspl 3.14 is known for battery drain ... Also I never overclocked

As for 2nd question you might have a redundant program or broken shortcut in startup, just remove it.

Thanks for the reply. After I rebooted my phone a couple of time, the battery usage seemed to go back to an acceptable state and it is now similar to that of my previous rom. I have these in my startup: arkswitch.ink, capnotify.ink lockdevice.ink, poutlook.ink, startkey.ink, wifiinit.ink. I have deleted some of the original ones but from the ones I just listed, which of them are safe to delete?

All are safe to remove, I just keep wifiinit.lnk (FYI lnk as in link with a lowercase L and not as ink with an i )
