Whats the procedure to flash the official lineage os
Wipe /data /cache, flash ROM gapps mods bla bla reboot
Great job! Finally official lineage os!
Android Pie source code is out for some time now. Will u be building an unofficial lineage os 16 Rom?
I built gzosp pie around 3 weeks back. Will wait for some more time before touching pie again.
I think its because I am trying to make a user build not userdebug. The errors are not there in userdebug. This is not specific to x00td, it should show up with any device. Try making a user build and you will see the errors.
Will check
NFC not working on global model!
Logs ..
Short review.
Bug :
- Video Audio Recording seems have problem.
- USB OTG doesn't work.

3. Nope, I had restarted 10 times during some testing and never face any bootloop issue

Thanks for letting me know.
Do we still need to flash decrypt.zip with update?
Not from todays built onwards.
First of all, a BIG THANKS to Shivam Kumar Jha and SagarMakhar! I was looking to buy a new phone, but I wanted LOS on it, and I wanted to buy Zenfone MP M1, but LOS was only available unofficially earlier, so I kept looking at other phones on which I could install Lineage. As soon as I saw that it was available on Zenfone MP M1, I didn't think twice about what I had to do next.

Some questions:

I was on locked bootloader, stock image 323 before I started. The Lineage site instructions are to first unlock the bootloader officially using the Asus tool, then do the TWRP and LOS install stuff, and then optionally flash Gapps and the Su Addon. What I did was, used Sudeep Duhoon's method of unlocking the bootloader unofficially, then installed the TWRP given on the Lineage site, and then installed LineageOS.

After this, I did not flash Gapps or the Su Addon. Instead, immediately after flashing LOS and before rebooting, I made a full system backup with TWRP by selecting all the options - System, Vendor, Data (excl. storage), Recovery, Boot, Modem Firmware, Persist, and dsp. Then I rebooted. Now the Lineage site says that if you want Gapps, you should flash it before booting, so suppose at some point, I decide that I want Gapps, and I restore this first backup I have made and then flash Gapps and reboot, would it be the same as required by the steps, or would I have to do the whole process from the start again?

Secondly, I did not flash the Su addon because banking apps detect it and immediately quit, so suppose I flash Magisk at any point, I should get root, right? Or should I have done the Magisk flashing immediately after flashing LOS as well?

Actually I had faced a problem during the first boot as well: my phone was encrypted, and I had read that I should run the decrypt tool first, but I had probably forgotten to do that, so what happened is that the phone was stuck at the Lineage boot logo for around 35 minutes before I switched it off, rebooted to recovery, and flashed the decrypt tool. Then when I rebooted, Lineage didn't take more than five minutes to finish the installation. Because of the decrypt mistake I made, I suspect that the first TWRP backup I made might not be valid, and even if it is, when I revert to this backup and flash Gapps, I'll also have to run the decrypt tool again at that time.

I tried encrypting the phone after the setup was complete, but LOS rebooted, reached the lock screen, and after I entered the password, nothing happened. I started the encryption process again but the same thing got repeated. Is there something else I am supposed to do before beginning the encryption process?

Hope I was clear in putting forth my questions. And a big thanks once again! :D
umm will read carefully tonight , feeling lazy rn :p

Please developer it would be great if you add the option for performance mode in battery settings like in the official build and I'm getting random FC of Android. Even the touch lag is still there just like stock rom. Otherwise this rom is best for Asus zenfone maxpro m1.
Thanks for the rom. :)

I wish that the Lineage Developers do add features like Ambiant Display, Double Tap To Wake, Pick to Wake, Dismiss Persistent Notifications, etc... Also I noticed some bugs like Bootloops, and also while playing 4K and 1080p Videos. The videos weren't playing smoothly....

Do fix these all the bugs in the upcoming updates. Also, when Lineage will give an Official Update of Android Pie for Asus Zenfone Max Pro

Sorry if posting logcats isn't allowed here. After installing Lineage, I installed Magisk today. Ever since then, Truecaller has stopped working. It just doesn't start, and keeps crashing as soon as I try to start it. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it three to four times, restarting the phone, and also reseting the permissions, but the problem still persists. I have also uninstalled Magisk, but still Truecaller crashes. I made a logcat using Matlog, I find that something about background execution not allowed is probably causing it. I'm pasting the logcat below, since I don't see any option to attach the txt file:

It's same like attach image i think.

Better to attach .txt or .log file instead of whole text.

There is no option to attach any kind of file. Maybe it is because I am a new user, and have made only three posts yet. I also have to enter a captcha every time I want to post. Is it the same for everyone, or only for new users?

I think you need 10 posts before you can link files or other sites, cause I can, and I dont post that often.

Battery ? backup is very good with this ROM. You can easily get 10h+ SOT.
I use mobile hotspot a lot which is somehow not showing in the list of apps for battery consumption.

    LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 8 (oreo), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review.

    About official lineage status,
    I got added in Lineage slack group ~3 weeks back & also got Sagar added later as we plan to co-maintain.
    Device trees have already been imported by lineage team. We are waiting for some patches to get merged & then official builds will initiate.

    I've also updated my stock camera port to 316.

    Official build starts

    Download official build

    Make sure to clean flash!
    Also remember to flash decrypt.zip if you are on unencrypted /data & would like to stay so.

    does it support GSIs.
    Yes the lineage vendor supports GSI. VoLTE will work too without flashing any additional patch :p
    I tried to make a user build for myself with the code. I ran into some sepolicy issues. These arent specific to this device but also showed up with another device I tried. Looks like a bug in lineage.
    Code:
    libsepol.report_failure: neverallow on line 416 of system/sepolicy/public/domain.te (or line 8819 of policy.conf) violated by allow update_engine rootfs:file { write create setattr relabelto append unlink rename };
    libsepol.report_failure: neverallow on line 413 of system/sepolicy/public/domain.te (or line 8816 of policy.conf) violated by allow recovery system_file:dir { mounton };
    libsepol.report_failure: neverallow on line 260 of system/sepolicy/public/domain.te (or line 8663 of policy.conf) violated by allow update_engine update_engine:capability { sys_rawio };
    libsepol.check_assertions: 3 neverallow failures occurred
    Error while expanding policy
    When I look at the domain.te file, I see these lines at the mentioned line numbers -
    Code:
    # Nothing should be writing to files in the rootfs.
    neverallow { domain userdebug_or_eng(`-recovery -update_engine') } rootfs:file { create write setattr relabelto append unlink link rename };

    # Don't allow mounting on top of /system files or directories
    neverallow * exec_type:dir_file_class_set mounton;
    neverallow { domain -init userdebug_or_eng(`-recovery') } { system_file vendor_file_type }:dir_file_class_set mounton;

    # Limit raw I/O to these whitelisted domains. Do not apply to debug builds.
    neverallow {
      domain
      userdebug_or_eng(`-domain')
      -kernel
      -init
      -recovery
      -ueventd
      -healthd
      -uncrypt
      -tee
    } self:capability sys_rawio;
    Looks like there are exceptions being made for eng and userdebug builds, and hence it doesnt work with user builds.

    I could track down the recovery issue to device/lineage/sepolicy/common/private/recovery.te. I think its the following line. There is also an update_engine.te file that might be having the other troubled policies
    Code:
    allow recovery system_file:dir mounton;
    I could probably get rid of the offending lines from the recovery.te and update_engine.te files, but just wanted to make sure thats the best way to move forward with this.

    X00TD has no build errors with device tree given in lineage-15.1 or we wouldn't have official build :eek:
