How different is this device from Asus Selfie (Z00T)?
(It would be beautiful to have treble support for Zoot but I am no kernel dev)

Is there an Asus treble-based rom for a phone similar enough to Z00T?
You need a treble enabled device to flash treble ROMs(your device in not treble compatible). Is there an Asus treble-based rom for a phone similar enough to Z00T?
Obviously. You need a treble enabled device to flash treble ROMs(your device in not treble compatible).
You are talking about Zenfone Laser 2 right? If so it runs on 615. Max pro runs on 636. It has totally different internals.Obviously.
What I meant is: "Is there a ROM for a non-treble Asus phone with similar hardware to Z00T, which makes it treble-compatible?"
(to start thinking how to treble-enable Z00T)
What does that mean??Pie device sources for X00TD are now public, X00TD github
&& this ROM will not be updated anymore.

ii) flash 'AOSP_X00TD-9.0-20180811-ALPHA-system.img' to system
iii) flash vendor.img (vendor.img from pr1) to vendor
iv) flash 'AOSP_X00TD-9.0-20180811-ALPHA-boot.img' to boot
v) reboot
