..and appreciate all the effort that has gone into it, the issue with the SD card not showing up as mounted and not being able to install apps to the SD card have made me uninstall this ROM until J has enough quiet time to fix as much as (s)he? is going to.
Thanks for your efforts to date. What I did play with I liked. Great speed. Fast launch. Boot animation was ...eh... but I can fix that But the inablilty to mount/unmount the SD card was a deal breaker. I assume that I am not the only one who has that issue and it may eventually be addressed (as some other ROM chefs will) It is probably such a small thing so as to have gone unnoticed.
I love this ROM but only one problem I have is a syncing issue with GMail it works for the first 16 hours then I get syncing issues ( I get emails and can delete them but they still show up on the web based GMail as a new message.) So I just go back to my last backup that I made after doing a fresh install of this ROM. Does anyone else have this issue?
SE just unveiled Xperia Arc, Neo and Play at the World mobile congress . Nothing we didnt expect. There s an Xperia pro unveiled too... No dual core, tegra 2 , 1 gb ram and 3d screen from SE yet. The showstealers are samsung and htc this time ..
Hey, I'm on the 2.2 beta 3h1, and I've been quite happy with it from the beginning. When I had first got it, the camera was working just about the same as the SE one, provided this one has no option for turning on light, but hey. For some reason, I am no longer able to zoom in with the camera, even after trying multiple camera apps. Any ideas? software or hardware issue? Should I revert to SE rom to check??
I just tried it and It's alright, except I have no money to buy the full version, and the zooming isn't what I had before, its more just cropping. At one point, on this rom, the zoom function actually zoomed in the preview image, so you could use the camera to see something zoomed in before actually taking the picture. I'm looking for something like that.
Again, anyone with suggestions is appreciated and if you have any information, please, post it!
Actually, the zoom has always just been an illusion. There is no physical zoom hardware, they all just crop, the vignette just shows you for real, where as the others give you the illusion of zoom, but the end result is exactly the same. I can say that with freex10 and vignette, this phone has never taken better photos..... much better than standard se.
Is there a way to turn on "the illusion of zoom" in vignette? Rather than showing you the "cropped" part, but showing fullscreen what it will snap?
If so, I would love that and would consider buying the full version if that be the case.
Not that I can see, but the end result photos are exactly the same anyway.. I for one are not that fussed... if you have digital zoom u should use it as last resort because it lowers the resolution unlike optical zoom which actually does zoom in at full res.
While this is true, at 8.1 MP for a cell phone camera, when I could zoom with full quality, I could still zoom in all the way and it was still very clear. Vignette demo, however, only goes up to 2 MP (I believe) and the full quality is only unlocked with the full version and since I am broke.. I am trying to find a camera app that will allow zooming with full resolution available. I would prefer the "Camera" app that came with the Rom to work the way it should, but the zoom slider refuses to move at all. Do you think reinstalling that app would work? If so, could someone with a working one please extract the APK for me?
Since this thread is now mainly for discussion about custom roms, and also to avoid confusion caused by "custom" rom "releases" (which are just renamed FreeX10 roms NOT supported by us), I am posting the new ROM in another thread.
Please refrain from spamming the new thread, it's for releases / bug reports only!

As Jerpelea stated, we decided to port all work to Android 2.2 - this will be the STABLE branch from now on.
Since I've finished working on xRecovery, I'll focus now on EXPERIMENTAL branch. That is Gingerbread 2.3 rom, which is in early alpha version.
Good news is that hw/graphics and radio/gsm work already, so fingers crossed
