Guys just one thing
Which Gapps package should I install after flashing this rom
Pre-installed apps:
- MicroG core apps: GmsCore, GsfProxy, FakeStore, maps API.
- NLP backends for MicroG : DejaVuNLPBackend (default), MozillaNLPBackend, AppleNLPBackend, RadioCellsNLPBackend, NominatimNLPBackend.
You can use davx5 to synchronize your google contacts. Or better, export/import and use a nextcloud account somewhere...Thanks a lot for that release.
All is ok for my Sony XA2, except importation of my google contacts.
Is there a way for synchronize or I must do an export-import ?
As you can see, we prepare the jump to Android 11... Could you explain in details what you need with fbind, what do you exactly do with fbind ? There maybe a solution (selinux rules, ...).Hello @vince31fr
thank you very much for this ROM for XA2. Due to the fact, that lineageOS for XA2 is now on 18.1 (and 17.1 is no longer officially supported) it's really good that iodé is (1.) much better in privacy and (2.) stays on Android10 (Android11 has this awful "scoped storage policy", which makes it unusable for people, who need to extend the small internal storage of 32GB by mounting extSDcard into /storage/emulated/0 with " fbind").
But... "Root Essentials" does not work with iodé, release of 2021/05/28. It crashes only. (With LOS17.1 it did work.) Any idea?
Thank you very much,
samhhmobil
What kind of sound problems you had ? And could you please give a link to the patch ?Hi @vince31fr ,
many thanks for this ROM! I'm a former long time Sailfish OS user, and I'm happy to see that Iodé is a very valid alternative. I had only an issue with media sound and videos on my XA2 pioneer but I found on the web a patch for Lineage and now all goes like a charm! Thanks again.
I had no sound from all videos and music files: no sound from youtube, music stored into the phone, videos received via whatsapp or telegram and so on. And all videos where played slowly. What kind of sound problems you had ? And could you please give a link to the patch ?
Take this ROM as it is!If i disable push notifications during the setup wizard why would i follow any of the other steps, you made it sound like turning that off will eliminate microG on the device.
I see no logic in turning off cloud messaging and safetynet in microG settings when i already disabled microG during the setup.
Same goes for preinstalled apps, why uninstall microG core services and other stuff when i've already turned it off during the setup..
This has nothing to do with the desire of a single user, you adverstise iodeOS as a privacy operatingsystem, google is the exact opposite of privacy so as a logical conclusion iode should NEVER have any connections to google.
Atleast provide an option during the setup that will prevent microG from even installing in the first place, let those who want to use microG use it but don't force it on those who don't...
From reading your reply, disabling push notifications during the setup will not disable microG otherwise you wouldn't have listed the other steps.
microG must be optional and not forced onto people.
