This is excellent news! For those of us coming from 8.1 should we dirty flash (along with dsp-label-fixer) or is full data wipe required?

Tried already but not booting completely.

I came from Omni 9 homemade.
Installed this one and restartet and waited about 20 minutes, but only the omni sign visible with wobbly feelers.

Then restored backup.

Need to do complete clean install?

Great work! thanks for taking time to upgrade this ROM to Pie.

Is GPS working? I have just installed the ROM with binaries v9 and GPS detects satellites, but cannot lock onto any. (I previously had harry's ROM with the same problem as well, I guess it's poor implementation from the AOSP end)

EDIT: GPS works
EDIT 2: GPS has a mind of its own and will not work except for the time when it does, currently investigating (probably something wrong with my phone)

Just tried in GPSTest - locking works. Omnirom 9 official, v9 OEM. Clear field would be best test area =)

Thank you, I also got it to work after waiting a while, enabling mobile data as well as derping around with A-GPS settings in the process appears to have worked (not sure which, though). For future reference, my phone locked in after detecting at least 8 satellites with ~20% signal.

All seems work (camera, fingerprint...) but an important things don't work. The phone conversation don't work (micro and audio), I can't received and emit sound. BUT the contact can received the sound of phone numbering ?!?!!
I specify that the sound and the microphone works perfectly.
So it's unusable.
I return to => Omnirom 8.1

The Unofficial version of OmniROM by HarryHarryHarry had a similar issue, the fix was to first flash the latest stock ftf image (ends with .118), flash twrp and do a clean install of the rom. I would think this fix is going to work for this version too.

I'm currently running the Omnirom 8.1, and I just got a pushed message from OpenDelta on the phone itself:

Update ready to download
omni-9-20190616-kugo-WEEKLY

Can I update to Omnirom 9 from the phone itself by running that? Or must I download the rom on my computer and install it the normal way?

This seems to be another bullshit project. Maybe they are working on omnirom 10 now, which of course will never come into a stable state too. Android 8.0 with latest security patches would be a hundred times better than trying to build a new android version and never complete it.
dude, where's your gratitude? someone developed a ROM for you to use completely for free, on their spare time. You should be grateful for that, even if the support has stopped. So do something like this for the community by yourself before calling others' projects "bullshit".

The reboot problem is not really an issue for me since I don't play games often, but there's a real deal-breaker in play: sometimes all sound just shuts off and the only way to restore it is reboot. I'm attaching logs, there are some errors about speaker gain, maybe they are related.
I don't know if this can be fixed easily or not, but either way, I think this should be included in the "known issues" section in the mean time.

    Hello everyone!

Obi brought to attention this issue, for which I had already done a preliminary fix by solving a pinctrl mess, since
the emerging issue was actually a total loss of power on the entire slimbus.
@pauliusval99 Thanks to your logs, I have been able to locate a second (and - this time - probably the last) issue
regarding the audio loss issue, which is about a bad power request message that's getting sent from the msm slim
    driver.

I wrote a fix for this issue, which should hopefully work right (I couldn't test it due to time constraints) and.....
    ...there it is: https://github.com/sonyxperiadev/kernel/pull/2020

    Enjoy!

Gratitude for what? I never used this rom and I will not do it cause I need a fully working phone and not something to play with. It was a complete waste of time to follow this thread.
If this is not what you're looking for, just keep walking. No need to be an asshole.

Is there an answer to this? Looks like I have the same problem. I'm coming from a clean install:

flashed ...2.118 FTF from XperiFirm with Flashtool, wiping everything, result: usable stock Sony Android 8. But I didn't really use it, just went through the setup screens, skipping all logins, wifi setup etc., to go to Settings and re-enable USB debugging via ADB
flashed TWRP 3.3.1 from twrp.me/sony/sonyxperiaxcompact.html with Fastboot, result: boot loop after SONY logo
flashed 2.3.2_v9_loire ODM from Sony site with Fastboot
booted into TWRP recovery, installed most recent weekly zip from dl.omnirom.org/kugo/ (omni-9-20191013)

    Result boot sequence:
"This device is unlocked and can't be trusted" warning
    Sony logo on white background
Omni splash animation (four dots converge to circle with Android alien inside)
    attached screenshot 1
enter any password with at least 4 characters. No matter what you type, it always says "The password you entered is correct, ..."
    attached screenshot 2
"Reset Phone" boots directly into recovery (TWRP)
Regular reboot loops back to 1.

What did I do wrong? I never touched anything with encryption. Is the boot loop after installing TWRP on top of stock (step 2) normal? How can I fix it all?

Boot manually to twrp (power off + vol-) and format data. Type yes and reboot.
