So I was on 1.6.1, installed 1.6.5 successfully (thanks Sho!). Phone booted up after the install. Played with it a little bit and then went to Task Manager, as soon as I pressed Clear Memory the phone re-booted and never started again. I am able to go to CWM, I re-flashed 1.6.1 but it still won't boot, it is stuck on the Samsung Galaxy SII logo. I'll try a restore.
I just tried that.... no issue. Doesn't make sense but I think you'll have to full wipe.

Oddly enough why do you feel the need to clear the memory. All it does is make apps start slower which in turn makes the phone feel sluggish and in turn usually uses more battery.

Hope you get it running quickly.

Any idea?
Reflash the ROM. Have your wife dance around for a bit while flashing. Tell her it worked and she is special. life will be good again.

Must be slow at the factory today........ LOL!

Not sure why, to be hones with you. I thought cleaner memory is better. In any event, none of the restores worked so I had to full wipe and re-install, It is booting up as we speak. Thanks again!!

is it me or does the batteries drain a bit faster then usual?
if you just flashed the latest, remember that a new kernel version was included so it may take a few days for that to settle in.
I found a good enough spot to download it. You've always has an issue or what? Last 2 version doesn't help you?

Nope. Gonna find the 1.4 SiRFgps.conf and see if that helps. If not I'll do another full wipe. If still no dice I'll try AOKP again to rule out hardware. Was working prior to SHOstock, but he's got to be something in overlooking. I'm in no way blaming the ROM/kernel :)

I'm having some sync issues. If I create an event in the calendar app, it syncs to my google calendar and s planner fine. If I delete that event in either the calendar app or google calendar, it also deletes on my phone and s planner. If I create an event in s planner, however, it syncs to calendar on my phone but not to google calendar. S planner is convenient because I can put in repeating events for a certain number of days but it's not syncing up to my gmail account. Anyone else have this weirdness?

Also, I don't have auto sync set up, I just do it manually since I don't require to be up to date every day.

Thank You

Help!!! Please!!!!

Can someone please help me....huge problem! I know I have seen something about charging issues before but I can't search because I am at work and I don't want to risk getting caught.

Here is the deal, I was on 1.6.1 and all was fine. I downloaded 1.6.5 before I left for work and updated without wipe at work (after verifying MD5 of course). It flashed fine and seems to be working fine except for one major problem...the second I plug it in to a charger it turns off and the battery charging indicator shows for a second then disappears, then comes back and disappears, and on and on like that. As soon as I unplug it from the charger it turns itself back on and works fine again. If I shut the phone down first and then plug it into the charger it does the same thing and turns itself on when I unplug it.

Any ideas?

The only time I've seen this was with either a defective usb port
our cable. Try wiping and flashing.

Mine is set to auto sync but I don't have your issue at all. Sorry maybe you can clear data on s planner? You sure you are syncing the gmail calendar correct?

Well... all you need to do is add one at a time back. I tried SetCPU and it made no difference for me. Jeboo uses Go Launcher without issue except for the stupid animations it added for the Christmas Holidays.... Not sure what that's all about but that should be user enabled, not automatic. IDK what Statusbar+ is... I'll have to look at that and I haven't used swiftkey since I use Swype.
The added memory is one thing that helps the performance on JB. Its actually utilizing the memory that the phone has. Why cripple it. It makes apps load faster since it gets loaded in cache.
I haven't added any animations but I did add the JB animations to SHOstock2 so that is the same. GoogleNow I leave disabled in the app so all its good for is GoogleSearch.
There won't be a whole lot that changes once released IMO.

Thanks....
I just saw your v1.6.5 update (thanks! :good:), I will try it again this weekend. How do you disable Google Now? When I hit the search button (hard key) it pops up, and it kept showing me traffic ETA when I enable GPS. I enabled it to test it out and it ended up taking 25MB+ of RAM when I wasn't using it. Don't bother looking at Statusbar+, I don't think it works on JB because of how the new notification dropdown looks. That's not your fault, or anything you could fix anyway. SetCPU works because I can underclock when idle and overclock when I'm using GPS or web browsing, etc.. That's fine though, it has very little footprint. A few other things kept opening too, like Google maps and Swipe when I don't even use it. (I can't remember the rest).

I have all of this running right now on SHOStock2, with >300MB free. But when I do the same thing on v3, I have less than 100MB free, and then everything just get's really laggy.

I also use GO Launcher and no issues here (Except the animations as sho said but that can be turned off) Swiftkey Flow Beta 4 using it without any issues, No memory issues or battery life problems as some fellow members are having, phone goes to deep sleep in the night nicely and consumes less than 1% per hour, currently on 1.6.1, no mediascan issues, using poweramp... Hats off to Sho for such a wonderful and stable release :good: :good: :good:
Yes, hats off to Sho, all of the ROM's he has made are fantastic! :victory:

I just flashed 1.6.5 and I was using it and it suddenly turned off. Now I can't get the phone to boot up anymore. when I press the power button, it shows the battery icon in the center of the screen and it does this whether its plugged in or not and whether I just press the power button or hold it down. I have no idea how to turn it back on :( Help! thanks!

*UPDATE
I got it to turn on by taking the battery out and putting it back. I think I found the problem. My power button doesnt work anymore, i cant lock the screen or open up the power menu but my phone works fine. It was working just this morning how should I fix it?

George, get into recovery via the 3 button combo. Full wipe, flash the ROM that u were previously on. Re-download latest shostock. Full wipe, flash. Should be fine.

Or try holding power for 10 seconds first. Worth a shot.

Sho, here's the aokp GPS results: (I know I know, picture would have worked but to me it just doesn't tell the story properly. Also, crappy weather, cloudy, might explain my ish signals but still... its working.)

When you open Google search, go into the settings and you will see an option under "Google Now" to turn it off. Also make sure that "Use wireless networks" is unchecked in the "Location Services" settings menu.

Tried wiping S planner data(set up to auto sync also), rebooted, and it must have synced with My calendar during boot because all my events were still there. Anyhoo, it didn't work, any event that I create in S planner does not sync to my gmail account. hmmm, this won't do. I like S planner much more than the calendar app.

edit: detailed steps
1. create event in gmail (on home computer)
2. seconds later it shows up in calendar app and S planner
3. delete event in gmail (on home computer)
4. sync, and seconds later it's gone from calendar app and S planner
5. create event in gmail
6. seconds later it shows up in calendar and S planner
7. delete event in S planner, sync and it's gone in calendar app and gmail account
8. create event in S planner, sync and it shows up in calendar app but not in gmail account

I'm not making this up, I assure you. Does this sound rational?

I tried to select the full wipe option, but my power button wasnt working, so I couldnt do anything...I was so frustrated and i just kept pressing the power button and suddenly it worked. And it asked me if I wanted to full wipe. I said no and I rebooted and now its running as usual :D THANK YOU!

Mine worked fine. must be a setting or something somewhere. When you created the event in S-planner, did you make sure the event was set to sync with gmail? I know when you create events in s-planner it defaults to "my calendar" (on the first one) which is why it may not have synced to google.
