Has this version work on Siyah kernel?

Screen shot

OK. I cannot get screen shots (Home+Power) to work on Jeebo or Siyah's kernel. I did an exhaustive search on this thread and while it is not always clear the right combination, it looks like Home+Power is the right combination. I also tried Volume - and Power just to be sure, but it did not work either. I have tried fast, slow, on first, the other first, both at the same time, long press, short press.

I know it works for many people, so it must be something I am doing or something I need to enable... Is there any trick to it?

Make sure you press the home button first, and then press the power button immediately after and hold both down for a couple seconds until it takes the screenshot. I'm on siyah, and it works.

Just worked for me. Its been power/home at same time and hold until it snaps pic on both jeboo and siyah.

a while back I know NFC worked I was beaming stuff back and forth to my Nexus 7. Now, it doesn't work so I guess I'm in that batch that has NFC that won't work.

Oh well, not a deal breaker it's a novelty thing at this point.

There is the key I was missing. You have to hold it for a couple of seconds! I feel like a moron, but at least a happy moron :good:

It works as was suggested by dsmboot. However, any issues (there have been some) will be up to you to figure out. Sho exclusively supports the latest release and the kernel that it's packaged with. Any other kernel you flash and have an issue with will most likely receive a response similar to "flash the kernel found in post #3".

Installed shostock yesterday and its awesome. Best user interface i have seen among the 4-5 i have tried so far. Thanks for the rom..

Quick question if someone is aware; i really loved the calendar widget but once i installed Apex Launcher, i cant seem to find it in my wodgets. Does the Calendar widget work only on base touchwiz?
I just tried it as I run Apex too. Works for me. The calendar is now called S Planner. Maybe the widget got renamed too? But mine still showed as Calendar.

Thanks, great!

Next easy questions:

Launcher- Is there any way to change the Dock buttons or whatever they're called down at the bottom in TouchWiz ? Or do I just need to go with a different launcher for that. I'm used to Holo Launcher on my old phone, but really TW is working fine on this, just wishing for a tiny bit more customization.

And idle curiousity for those using Siyah - Considering the speed, support and solidity of this ROM/kernal combination, what is the attraction of throwing Siyah into the mix?

Testing is always encouraged! As with any external mod or kernel, we can't be expected to provide support for everything. We stay busy enough dealing with our own issues :)

Thanks for your response. I see Calender but it shows the agenda.. but not the calendar interface(showing complete month).

I'm not sure if apex displays a preview of the widget like touch wiz or just a name, but try looking for the "s planner" widget. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't work for some reason because it is a Samsung app. And a great one at that!

Thanks for your response. Yep. Widget was awesome. Sadly cant see it in Apex. I can see S Planner as an app but not as a widget :(

Download smooth calendar from the market. Access to Google calendar with widget. It's what I use.

Not sure what you mean?

Wow with 1.8.5 my battery drain like hell I unpluged it at 8am and at 1pm I only had 5% of battery life with regular use!
Obviously something wake locked... You should have bbs installed to monitor such things. Posting a comment like this does nothing to help the development of this ROM or it's users.

I initially saw poor battery life. Found Exchange was using the CPU. Removed my account, then recreated it. Problem solved. Received that tip here.
