What's the advantage of a new base release? This one is fine already.

Sent from my Nexus 7
and we'll probably get better standby battery life than we are currently getting....i remember on shostock1 or 2 when I was getting at least a day and a half to two days of standby time....and 5hrs of screen on time on other days

Might've been covered but what's the solution to google maps wakelock? I seem to have a lot of issues with maps, alarms and wifi wakelocks eating my battery and I'm hoping for something better than leaving wifi and gps off (and dealing with the alarm drain).

I haven't set up google now or latitude, I have wifi set to off while sleeping, and I only have 3 alarms in total.

If the "Use wireless networks" location setting is turned on you will experience a good deal of battery drain.

I always have to turn off location services or my battery drains. With location services off I use about 2.5% per hour and about 3.7% with it on.

Re: [RoM][XXLSJ-4.1.2-JB][SHOstock3 v1.8.5] [01/20/13][Who doesn't love candy?]

I think removing the input select icon is causing the android 4.2 keyboard to crash and then be automatically replaced by the samsung keyboard. For some reason it was replaced twice as I wrote this message.

Not sure what you mean?

Obviously something wake locked... You should have bbs installed to monitor such things. Posting a comment like this does nothing to help the development of this ROM or it's users.

Ok I figured out what BBS is and installed it and now what? Lol I'm sorry what is it I do inside the application to remove wake locks?

Keyboard mysteriously replaced again. I think adding the keyboard icon back in would be good. Very useful if you are switching from keyboard to wiimote to other input methods, and there is no disadvantage to having it there

Sho, have you been having the text messaging bug where you can send but not receive text messages lately?
I haven't seen anyone complain about this for awhile. I used to have it every 7-8 days, but nothing for over a month now.

nice update Sho....CRT off is DAMN smooth...how i missed it so...is it possible to get screen on animation as well? really liked it from shostock1...anyways...this is the best update yet...UI is super smooth and zippy as hell...lovin' it man :good:
Agreed. Thanks, Sho - I really had missed the CRT off. Thanks for all your hard work & looking forward to the new release.

Found something odd:

I loaded 1.8 onto my wife's phone a few days ago and moved it to 1.8.5 tonight. My phone has been updated since 1.4 (I think) without a wipe and is currently on 1.8.5 also. Certain menus are different in out phones - for instance, she has a "Software update" button in About Device and I do not. Why might this be the case?

Re: [RoM][XXLSJ-4.1.2-JB][SHOstock3 v1.8.5] [01/20/13][Who doesn't love candy?]

Is this normal, while moving the applications in manage apps to SdCard. It uses the external sd card space, which shows as USB storage.

Can I change this to internal SDcard, as i have limited space in ext compared to internal
Guys please anyone help on this. Been on aokp for long time and just wanted to try this awesome rom. But all the app data is going to ext sdcard instead of internal sdcard while moving applications in manage apps.

just a thought...reboot phone without your external SD card in and attempt the same action and it should go to the internal SD card. Then reboot phone with your external SD card in. See if that does it.

I was new in this thread and i'm a bunch of noobs i have prefer questions for the shostock3 ROM because I preferly to flash my i777 to it. First It is okay to flash it i use stock ICS ROM non-rooted. And will my AT&T Unlock will be disable if i flash it. because it came from US then this phone was send to me here in Philippines so barely I paid to unlock it here to avail sim services. And how will i backup my apps & files? i have many important apps & files on my Internal & External SD card. I know how to flash it on CMW mode but the backup thingy makes me aware. Thanks!

You have to root so you can flash a kernel with clockwork mod recovery to flash this rom
