Re: [RoM][XWLSJ-4.1.2-JB][SHOstock3 v2.6] [03/27/13]["Recovery Edition"]

I'd like to know if some of you have installed the framework2.jar I posted with scrolling cache enabled? I've been using it this way for a few days now and I still believe it to be smoother over all.

For new currently it will be enabled in the next update. .com also planned on upping the row/column for the home screen and app drawer. I'm thinkin 4x5 for the home screen and 5x6 for the app drawer. What do you guys think?

I am not using framework2.jar but experiencing smoother scrolling as if scrolling was disabled in previous releases.i am already using your planed 4x5 and 5x6 using nova launcher and is perfect layout for out phone. I will finally have a chance to try twiz launcher:D

I think you would be a good person to test this for more. Just rename your current one to .bak and place the one I posted in there as instructed. Thanks in advance if you try this out for me.

I would definitely go for the increased row/column, or can this even be included as a toggle? Would the framework2.jar work on an older version of the rom? I'm still on 2.5.5 because I'm lazy and it has been working so well, but I would be willing to try it for you.

Sure I will test too, can someone please link me to the post ?

Edit: I found it.

Edit#2: sorry for the delay. As I was renaming framework2.jar using efs file explorer the phone rebootedand abd got stock and was forced to reflash the ROM and used adb that I should have used in first place. The scrolling effect seemed slightly improved but couldn't find much difference as I used it very short time. You know I am not a fan of scrolling cache, so I vote to disable it:D

That is for the new base and I did not see any improvement with previous versions. So I would not use it.

Installed the framework2.jar with the scolling cache enabled. Been checkin things out for a bit now...Hopefully it's not placebo, but I have to agree that it appears to be workin really well. I like it.

Quick question and I will delete if already posted but I see 2 different instructions on the first page.

I'm on 2.5.6 going to 2.6.. Do I need a full wipe or just dalvik and cache?

Just wiping caches should be fine. If you run into any problems I'd suggest a full wipe.

I would do a full-wipe. I always read the change logs, and if there's a base change, I always do a full wipe just to be safe.

2.5.6 was XWLSD and 2.6 is XWLSJ, never hurts to full wipe just in case. :)

Re: [RoM][XWLSJ-4.1.2-JB][SHOstock3 v2.6] [03/27/13]["Recovery Edition"]

Huge respect and appreciation to you Sho. After many a rom on multiple phones and release versions I can say for a fact this has been the greatest one. It's been consistent, fast, stable and fc free. Android has come a long way since owning my G1 HTC phone in 2008. Developers as yourself have pushed the boundaries of craftsmanship on our devices and will forever be a genius in my book.

Just a quick tip for all those with issues out there. A full wipe is always recommended. This is to avoid issues overall. Just like when you format a computer, if you want no problems you perform a full wipe prior to installing the new os on top. Treat your phone well and it will treat you the same way back.

I have no issues at all after doing a full wipe. Been running the Rom since March 15, 2013.
