It's not supposed to be constantly polling for new email. How long are you talking about here. Mine syncs about every five minutes or so. Which is too much for me as it is but there's no way to change that.
If you go into settings, tap the Google act from the menu and it will tell you when it synced last. If it's doing it constantly you're going to have battery issues. Also a weak signal could be causing delays

Yes it is. My bad. I often get delays on my gmail notifications. I have two phones that are synced with my account and often one phone will get an email notice and the other won't. Apparently it does not work the way i thought it did. Thanks for pointing that out.

GMail pushes...I have 3 different electronics that usually receive the email notification within 10 seconds of each other. Push is easier on battery then polling. One main reason I'm using the Gmail app and not the stock email app.

Thanks for the info and your time. i think I can take it from here.
Let's not get complicated here...
Back up your sdcards on your pc. Return to jellybean stock using Odin as guided in a thread in the general section. If there is one there with root you can Odin that one. Format both your sdcards. If you don't have root Odin flash a stock kernel with root. Then search on here for mobile odin and install that. Grab the rom and the Jeboo kernel from post 3. Unzip the kernel so you can just put zimage on the phone. Put that and the rom on your phone. Using Mobile Odin flash the Jeboo z image then upon reboot you can pull the battery so it doesn't boot and insert it back and use the button combo to go into cwm. Perform a full wipe in cwm then flash the rom and you should be good to go.
Hope that helps... Good day

As Shoman mentioned later, it is suppose to push, not pulling. It used to be instant, within seconds. Now it can be 20 minutes, sometimes even much longer. The mails are not always 'pushed' any more, they are waiting for another trigger.

Idk man... Have you tried wiping caches and fixing permissions in recovery?
Can't hurt.

To answer on your topic yes and no.....first thing you need to know A-GPS is completely different fillings if you get use to on other devices galaxy s2 and s3 are not that type....
Let's say S4 that happened I have has built in to hardware pressure sensor. ...real separate temperature sensor. .....and A-Gps assisted and from pressure sensor speed up warming time and lock to satellites...to what are really issue is behind well guarded codes that Samsung don't wanna share ...so for making this work around is to try implement A-GPS In to our phone. ....like Ntp or else ......our Rom is already developed and coded for this type of support

Thanks for answering. I don't understand some of this. ok ,I get that A-GPS file is different between different Galaxy phones and different Android versions but not how this explains it's a hardware issue . And then I think you are saying that it could be heat that makes a difference.
And yes, A-GPS workarounds, updates are what a lot of the GPS-fix apps do to help with slow GPS fix, but when it's constantly searching for hours, even with fresh A-GPS files it makes it hard to believe it was the problem. Or maybe those programs are not doing the right thing. I must find that script and try it.
I would like to know if you have your three S2s setup with the same ROM and apps and then some can't get GPS lock at all at same time that other does.

cheers

Thanks for the simplified walk-through for restoring happiness into my phone. I really appreciate it. :) I will keep these steps in mind. In googling some more yesterday, someone with this problem (SD card unexpectedly removed) installed the app "Wake Lock" and set it to PARTIAL_WAKE_LOCK. Interestingly, this program solves the issue for me. It seems that the CPU going to sleep causes the unexpected removal of the SD card. Impact on battery life seems to be minimal. I will test this for a few more days and then follow your steps if I still have trouble.

I've been having problems with the sound toggle.. After I put it into vibrate or silent mode and a notification appears, it still rings and turns into sound mode.. I'm the only one having this problem?

Unable to move apps to internal usb storage

Somebody plz let me know any workaround for moving apps to Internal USB storage. Under settings>application manager> there is an option to move apps to external sd card only. Is it possible to install/move apps to internal usb storage (around 11.5 GB). Please help.

Phone - Galaxy s2 (At&t sgh i777)
ROM - Shostock3 rom (android 4.1.2)

Yes there is way to gain this. ...
Use search button and look for sd swap script or take some more time search ....you can be lucky and change some things in the rom....just remember that anything you try to install in future will be foreclosure be cause APP developer uses stock settings for developed app....I have bean on this road ....and easy solution is to buy bigger sd card 64 GB..

yes.... only the internal storage is supported. You need to use an app for external sdcard as mentioned.

Could you guide me as to which app should I use for moving my apps to internal usb storage. As most of the apps allow moving apps only to external sd card. Thanks for the information.

It's a brand new flash after a wipe, even that didn't solve it :crying:

OK, this thing drives me absolutely nuts. The sync interval is over 30 minutes. I just noticed that it will sync if my connection changes. For example - I am on wifi in the office and I noticed new email present in my PC. I shut wifi down, it switched to wireless data and a sync took place. I kept wifi off...another email came and there was no sync. I switched wifi back on and a sync immediately occurred.

Does that help, gives anyone a clue as to what's happening?

BTW - I did fix permissions but it didn't help. As I mentioned, this is a fresh flash after data wipe/factory reset.
