Hello,

Yesterday I've flashed this ROM, but I miss the Push function in the e-mail application, is it gone in this ROM or how do I enable it again?

Open the mail app choose account settings/email check frequency, thats all.
Is that what you mean ?

I know, but the Push option is not there, it's just:
Never
5 Minutes
10 Minutes
.....
Manually

So there's no Push option...

Anyone please?

yeah. i use siyah 2,1,1 with smartassv2. i got 50% left after 1 day and 5 h, 1h 50 min display. and AOS at 3%, but even when used speedmod, i got AOS at 44% or higher, the battery lasted 2 days. so i wouldn;t worry to much about it if it lasts longer than 24h.

flash siyah , used setcpu, smartassv2. and see the results.

The default email client only supports push mail if you set your account as a premium account as far as I know. Either do that (if it works on this rom) or give k9 mail on the market a try

No you can just flash it directly by going into your recovery (by pressing vol up, power and home at the same time) then choosing install zip from sd card, going to your checkrom 3.1.1 zip and installing it

Cwm is the program that was installed on your phone when u rooted it, you can find it in the app drawer called CWM which lets you access clockwork mod for samsung devices.
kitchen backup is taking a backup after you installed the Checkrom's kitchen app, it also lets you take backup similar to clockwork and cwm
nandroid backup is a backup that is done from clockwork recovery, and it includes everything on your phone from apps to settings to ur current rom, its your safest oh sh*t worst case scenario backup.

Ah, so what does CWM backup actually stores then? Because I don't think CWM backup works like titanium backup nor nandroid backup...

I am not sure about that, but you can always go back to your nandroid backup, or find a stock kernel & stock rom and flash those from CWM/clockwork, it will return your phone mint condition all you need is a sticker to feel it's new

Lol, do I also need to do these wipes as well?
- Wipe Data/factory reset
- Wipe Cache
- Wipe Dalvik-Cache
- Wipe Battery Stats

...yes I know mate...but I love to use my phone as much as I can so for me it's only important to have enough battery for the all day...I charge my monster every nite

correction: I can play it as video but its only sound (recorded phone calls) and before (on checkrom RHD 1) it was working even in music player (and winamp too)

Did a full wipe, when restoring app from Market, it says insufficient storage space. Any idea what's wrong?

I have the same issue.
Also, even if I set vibration on only even silent, is reverting back. Always.
The recovery is odd. Only 3 options and always gives signature error.
I installed recovery from ROM manager and after reboot the old recovery appears.

Been using Revolution Rom and then Check Rom now for quite a while and never really had any problems, ive done a clean install of 3.1.1 and since my Data Connection has been very slow.. At work in the office my connection used to be preety rapid but since 3.1.1 ive noticed that its now quite slow, Emails,Facebook,Twitter etc take 20 Seconds+ to update where as before it was almost instantly

Just wondering if anybody else has had this problem? and what can be suggested

There are a lot of factors involved. First of all, what ROM, kernel and modem you use, what governor and CPU settings you have. Battery is also affected by how many apps you automatically synk and how many are set to refresh periodically. Signal strenght in your area is also affecting battery life, as well as some settings, like brightness level (obviously), HSPA, 3G or EDGE, how many e-mail accounts you sink etc. I am sure there are many more i miss right now.

For example, I had until yesturday some serious drain with version 3.1.1. Unplugged charger at 100% and, without touching the phone, without even turning the screen on, the level dropped 10% in 2 hours.

I found out, after cheking everithing I did different since I upgraded from previous version, I found out that syncronising phone contacts with the contacts from FriendCaster was the fault. because I want my contacts synked with Facebook, I installed SNS support from Kitchen to do it and disabled the contacts synking trough FriendCaster. now everything is back to normal.

My point is, if someone experiences battery drain, ther are a lot of possible causes. So, the only way to find the cause is to digg deep, test various settings, check all your programs and, of course, do a lot of reading in the forum .

I think this is due to modem you use. With this ROM is KI1. Corect me if I am wrong. Try other different modems from Kitchen and then compare..

As I am running Siyah, does anyone know if I can just flash the restore theme direct from CWM, as I see people getting problems flashing from the Kitchen..With Siyah

Siyah 2.1.1 is fine with CWM 5 and Kitchen.

The restore package has so much stuff in it, it's almost like flashing the ROM all over again...

I've been there. Internet was seriously slow on 3G and my cell network was weak. At that time I was using KI1 which is bundled with the ROM. But, after changing my modem to KI3 everything is perfect.

Guys, I'm loving this ROM.
I'm using the 3.1.1 version, with the XXKI4 modem + Siyah Kernel 2.1.1.

The battery life is AWESOME !! I'm 6hrs on battery and only dropped 4% and I use the screen brightness always on max.

This ROM gets more awesome with the GO LAUNCHER EX. Super fast, and beautiful!


BUT... I can't set the full screen caller photo like the video on the first post. I do all the steps, but it doesn't work!

Can anybody help me? Thanks!
