I've been using this Rom for about 4 days now (ZE551kl). I must say, I am surprised at how well this runs.
Very good job by dev.
Sound issues aside, I feel like this is how the phone should have performed when I first got it.
Thanks for doing this.

I get this in ADB Shell:

[email protected]_Z00T:/system/app/AsusFMRadio # ls
AsusFMRadio.apk
[email protected]_Z00T:/system/app/AsusFMRadio # chmod 644 AsusFMRadio.apk
Unable to chmod AsusFMRadio.apk: Read-only file system
10|[email protected]_Z00T:/system/app/AsusFMRadio # su chmod 644 AsusFMRadio.apk
tmp-mksh: 644: not found
127|[email protected]_Z00T:/system/app/AsusFMRadio #
Am I doing something wrong?

So, I think I'm on this ROM permanently now.
I've got Xposed and a few modules installed, and the whole thing is buttery smooth so far.
And this:

I've never had the RAM usage that low on this phone, on any ROM I've had.
Before this ROM, I've never had memory usage below 45%.

No, I haven't gotten that one worked out yet.
When I copied the folders to /system/app and rebooted, the OS would not load. Just stayed on boot screen for over 30 minutes. Also, cannot install the apk for either FM service or FM radio.
I plan on working on it some more tonight.
I haven't emphasized it much because Bluetooth audio is working just fine.

ZOOT guys can you chime in on if the headphone issue has been fixed. Zenfone 2 laser might be my next purchase and ROM's like these are what I run. The headphone issue is a must for me. I can't buy a phone until I see what development options I have.

There are different models of the Z00T device, and everyone responding to this thread should be a Z00T user.
Don't let something small like a headphone issue keep you from buying an all around great phone; however, since this community is still growing, developers are welcome to help resolve the issue if they have the time and patience.
Besides, if headphones are a must for listening to music or watching videos, Bluetooth (for me) works flawlessly to do all that.

I would recommend that you buy another phone

How is not having headphones working a "small" issue?

Appreciate the honesty on buying another phone. My options have been limited to about 5-10 different phones from a new 2014 flagship like the droid maxx to the OP3 to a honor 5x and nexus 5x. With every phone having different pros and cons its hard to make a choice for me will last 18 months or so.

If developer support is something that you value then what's turning you away from the Nexus 5x or even 6p

The one thing with the 5X is lack of sd card slot. I can handle a 32 GB I think but just worries me. Coming from JB and KK Link2SD was a savior and even with a 8GB phone I could make anything work with link2sd support and moving any part of a file to the partition, internal, ex sd, etc. I might just might the bullet spend the extra and go OP2 or Nexus 5X. I understand if my inquiries are non zenfone related they are better off elsewhere on XDA. I've kind of always eyed the zenfone 2 US variants and its appealed to me. Decisions decisions.

Hi,
firstly thanks for the hard work.

Unfortunately I cannot install it.
I own a Ze 601 KL with CN_1.16.40.1338 (it says ASU_Z011D), Custom Recovery TWRP 3.0.2-4 it is also Booloader unlocked and I also get that infamous Error 7.

Could anybody advise please.

Thank you in advance

I'm also waiting !! MM is more stable. The problem of other ROMs is that they are based on the CM, they usually consume a lot of battery, much more than stock. At least that's my impression. I am using the CM 13 and is great in performance and features, but loses in battery life over the stock.

I believe that a stock MM deodexed would be perfect, would have a great performace as the CM and using Xposed would to leave with great customizations as CM, but the battery life would be at least as the original stock, which is great!
