WiFi Tethering using OpTimus DE

I've been using this great rom for a while, and am on the latest ZVC radio. I don't seem to have any issues with the LTE v. 3G most of the time, though I do notice some radio issues after a long period of non-use.

But my question is about wifi tethering. Has anyone gotten this to work with the OpTimus rom??? I thought I had figured out my problem, but I was wrong -- it still doesn't work.

The wifi hotspot "works" in that it says it is on. It even puts out the SSID, and "connects" to my computer using that SSID. But when I go to a web page or any internet connection on my computer -- nothing (other than, it appears, the LTE symbol on the phone spins around a bunch and the wifi on my computer flashes). No throughput of data. It's just weird.

Here is what I did:
  1. Downloaded and flashed this "Fix,"
  2. Turned Ad Block app off when wanting to tether.

If anyone has this working, please let me know?? Thanks.

Thank u very much for the reply, just one more question, if i tot to ZVC , will my fone become sim Locked? At the moment its Sim unlocked. And if it does get Sim locked after tot to ZVC, any chance i will be able to Sim unlock it easily?

Whatever you did to unlock it should probably work without issue. But check the thread on unlocking.

Sprint LG-LS980 [Root , Sim Unlock and Custom Recovery] with ZVD Firmware
This that may even work. As zvd only change the kernel and a few things inside.

Help

This might be the wrong place to post this information but I wanted to start here as this was the ROM that I am using.
I have been running V2.2 without issue the only thing that bothered me from time to time was the notice about a software update that needed to be completed in the status bar. Not that big of a deal to me. Well today I allowed someone to make a call from my phone that person also took the liberty to update my software. The phone booted into TWRP which I thought was harmless. I rebooted the system and the phone came right back to TWRP. I figured I would just install the ROM again, that process seemed to have gone well. I rebooted after the install and my good friend TWRP came right back up. I remember reading one time about the EFTS backup and I did make one for the device that was an .img I think and another that was a zip file. I attempted to install the zip and then install the ROM again but I keep coming back to TWRP. I figured I better ask a few questions before I make matters worst for myself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your only option is going to be to TOT back to ZVC. Happened to me as well. Sucks. I couldn't even restore a backup.

I use to have wifi tethering issues until I read somewhere that before each use go and update either PRL or PROFILE. I forgot which one so I just update both to make sure it's done. After that then I have no problems with wifi tethering. Hope this helps.

Just try to remember to do it before each use. :)

hi i just installed ur rom. its cool.

i just have 2 issues, and i would be greatful if u can help me.

issu #1 = whenever i restart the phone, the Lg keyboard is force closed. the only way i can get it back to normal is when i install LG G3 keyboard apk i downloaded from xda. that fixes the issue.
issue #2 = my lcd seems to be broken but only the top small part is there which i dont really use. everytime i unlock the screen, i see "Hardware Key Control Mode" and also i see "Hands Free Activation Mode". i have tried to remove Sprint named apps from TITANIUM BACK UP app, but its still there. also i cant remove the update app which tells me to update to the Sprint OTA which i dont want.

can u pls pls help me how to remove especially this "Hardware Key Control Mode"??
thanks in advance

Probably not been updated for a long time. I believe the developer may have moved on to another phone

Hey buddy, I moved to the G3 for some time now, I may port OpTimuS to the G3, but due to lack of time I had stop cooking roms a while now. I believe this rom takes the G2 far, maybe as far as I can see it to go. Have a wonderful day to all and happy new year, if u move to the G3 you may see me there.

@Lrod0175, are you willing to divulge what build.prop tweaks you made to this ROM. I'd like to make the same changes on stock ZVE ROM. Thanks!

Going from 2.2 to 2.3

I am currently on VZA 2.2 and want to make sure I upgrade correctly. Do either #1 install 2.3 then the VZC or #2 VZC then 2.3? It wasn't clear to me which one I do first. Thanks.

This Rom is based on the new ZVC SPARK update, OpTimuS is a stock rom for the performance oriented but with battery in mind users, who like me like to get more speed, performance and responsiveness out of this quad core beast that is the LG G2, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do... Well enough said, lets move on to goodies
    .

    Installation:

:eek:Make sure you do a back up of what you have now, but specially of your efs and copy your back up to your computer just in case. The G2 has proven to me to be a bit too variable when it comes to flashing roms, radios, etc. We have gone through a lot of hours of testing and hair pulling trial and error to bring this latest update that is ZVC, so protect yourself at all times. I am not responsible for anything going wrong on your device.

Make sure you have wifi available, you gonna need to Update PROFILE, PRL and ACTIVATE device in settings, that way you can pick up data right away without waiting.

Xposed framework thanks to rovo89, Gravitybox thanks to C3C076 and BonezMontana for introducing it to us.

Xposed framework gives you the ability of modifying and theming without the need to modify the apps in the rom, so it goes on top of the rom sort of speak, its very easy to use and there are tons of modules with all kinds of modifications, simply awesome!

    To activate Xposed:

1-Find the Xposed installer app in your app drawer
2-Open it and go to framework
3- Choose Install/Update, the system will install the drivers and files needed
4-Go to modules and select gravity box
5-Reboot and enjoy! after reboot, find the gravity box app and start having fun!
6-Why stop with gravity? go ahead and find more modules of your liking, don't forget to thank the guys responsible for all of this!
