LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android, which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Base source code is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to the project, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.

1 - Make sure you run latest TWRP
2 - Download the desired ROM
3 - Download GAPPS of your preference
4 - Place in the card
5 - Reboot to recovery
6 - Make backup of Nandroid
7 - Wipe Data/Factory Reset
8 - Install the ROM
9 - Install GAPPS
10 - Reboot
11 - Enjoy !

About LineageOS 14.1
Flashing Successfuly...
Booting Successfuly with kernel v.r3r5...
Smooth and Awesome :)
Then after flashing Gapps Arm 7.1 pico .. Not booting :(
But if Flashed Gapps with the ROM after then booting but heavy lag on Welcome Settings..
Then I flashed CM12.1 with cleaning dalvik cache, internal S,and etc ..then now phone lagging (is that Ram mangment problem left with LAgeOS 14.1) never happened like this before... Same for other ROMs some times phone restarts because processor overheating :( now I'm in trouble  Big Thank and Hug For Your Work :(

Wait wait, cm-12.1 is deprecated, do not talk about it here, right?

I only will, when possible, do build of lineage 11, 13 and 14.1.

Ps1: Only KitKat and old ROMs supports flashing gapps after first boot, in Lollipop and newers you need to flash ROM then gapps.

Ps2: Lineage14.1 is not ready, I'm doing many crazy changes to camera.

Ps3: I rebased Lineage11 kernel and it is now at kernel version 3.4.113.

Ps4: cm-12.1 = windows vista, no one should use.

Ps5: cm-13.0 kernel will be rebased in top of an updated kernel version 3.4.113.

Ps6: cm-11.0 and cm-13.0 need some cherry-picks of cm-14.1.

Ps7: I backported camera driver of new current cm-11.0 kernel to KK (reverted new changes), reported many minor bugs in DualBootPatcher, waited, tested on stock, tried to fix camera on cm-11.0 (without sucess) and now my data is probably corrupted.

Ps8: I want to smash this device :highfive:

Ps9: If someone really want to help me with builds, contact me on PM/e-mail or send a message in Telegram.

Ps10: See my Contribution Activity on Github, if you don't trust on me

That's all, now is time to sleep,

That's an over-exaggeration, CM12.1 is actually much more stable/faster than CM13.0 or 14.1, don't know about CM11, but CM12.1 is definitely comparable to at least the stock ROM's performance. (that is, of course, if you're talking stability, if you're talking code and support, yes)

CM13 was released shortly after, so many devices was shipped with CM13 and not with CM12.1, that's where the Vista syndrome comes, no one uses it because CM13 is way better

Can somebody tell me, is it worth to upgrade from CM11 to Lineage 14.1? How stable it is?
LineageOS 14.1 is very slow in the setup wizard.
I had to go back to the previous version because it always crashed and I could not get out of the setup wizard.
