PSA-Do not flash on 6040A yet

After flashing my first ROM my phone essentially became useless. The 6040A variant (Bell in Canada) uses a UMTS 850/1900/2100 radio. And from what I've read Bell does not utilize GPRS as a secondary. So when you flash a TCL (or 6040D) based Rom mentioned in this thread, you only get 900/2100 support. The worst part was that it permanently locked my SIM card slot, asking for a "SIM ME" code. This is not the phone unlock code or the PUK code. Nor is it the default SIM lock...1234, 0000 etc.

I tried flashing pretty much every other ROM just to try amd get rid of this lock, but nothing worked. In even tried flashing a regional supported MTK radio on top. I was finally able to restore everything to stock Bell firmware via Alcatels Mobile Upgrade Utility. But still got the SIM ME lock. Bell support couldnt make sense of it, and neither could Alcatel. So I exchangednit in the end. I do notice a running process called SIM ME on the phone though. Anyway...no more tinkering for me until there is at least a system dump.

Anyway...hopefully this saved someone the headache I went through.

I have a TCL s950. It's rootet and has cwm. I sucsesfully installed the s4 rom. By the way I wanted another rom because it has lags on it, when sudenly I flashed another phones's rom. Now it's just boot, turn off, boot turn off unstoppable. Hopefully I have access to cwm and i could turn off the phone with it. Anybody has any solution? I would be really glad!! Sry for my english.

My s950 can't connect to pc. Its working well except this. I tired it in every single way. Even the one touch upgrade can't recognize my phone. Had somebody this problem? Now I cant root, upgrade, or get gapps on it.

Does the phone come up in device manager? If yes then try the drivers in my mega share.

We want 4.4.2!

Rooted, installed mobile uncle tools from OP, put 6.0.1.2 CWM recovery image on the root of the storage, together with feese 01008 ROM from laav's post, plus the Gapps (added email and exchange from here right into the zip before flashing - just drop them into system/app, dont unzip the zip!!) and what do you know, perfectly working china bought TCL S950 dual sim phone with all the Gapps and everything!

Smooth, fast and no bloatware, perfect! Almost feels like AOSP.

Thanks But it couldn't. I installed a driver on my pc and it worked. Now it can connent to any pc without any problem interesting ...

How did flashed another phone rom? From which phone? If u can acces cwm reflash s4 rom again then download other rom and flash again

Tried it for a few minutes, but the rom is still 4.2.2 en includes the standard TCL launcher. There are some chinese apps in it. WIl post screenshots later as edit.

Does anyone have stock rom for 6040D (( idol X )) with arabic language my phone comes with it but I flashed another rom and I want to go back to stock?
