Search for other MTK phones with and 4.4.* rom and you can try to port that one to the TCL. There is much more info on XDA and Cyanogenmod forums. Search for 'mtk compiling' or 'cooking mtk rom'.

Why? There is no Rom atm, first we need someone who can cook a new one from the CM files / Alcatel Source code, or can port a rom. Till then we doesn't need an extra thread.
Alcatel Idol X 6040
Hello, first of all, I don't have so much experience in this and my phone gives me a headache.
My problem is, I was playing some game on the phone and it restarted few times, when it finally "started" again I kept continuously receiving errors that some applications unexpectedly stopped working. I restarted the phone again and it was stuck on "Alcatel Idol X" logo, after the logo it just turns off and I couldnt turn it back on again. Today I tried to turn it on and I couldnt. I've put it on charger and the logo appeared again then battery charging animation. After that it turned off and wont turn on again. What should I do and what can I do about that? Any help will be appreciated. Just please dont tell me that the phone cant be fixed.

U have warranty? Take it to your sevice provider...U took it from Telenor or MTS? I've downloaded One Touch Mobile Upgrade and it says that my phone has the latest software and then does nothing to it.
Reset to default?

If it is done by pressing and holding power + volume up it does nothing again...
ok... first of all don't panic
If you already on your phone and on the alcatel logo then long press power button and wait until the screen turn black then release it immediately.
If you successful then the screen won't turn back on again, then press power + vol up button, wait for the alcatel logo on again... then once you see the screen on then immediately count 5 second then release the vol up button and keep pressing power button... if you are successful then it will bring you into recovery console... wipe the whole phone and data and reset it. Then boot it normally, then you might need to reset the phone again via the same procedure again then boot the phone again.
If above do not help you then please go to the service center to get it fixed.

Open one touch upgrade and select 6040
Connect the phone while its turned off, one touch upgrade should start downloading the firmware

4.3 Jelly Bean?
Has anyone seen/tried the 4.3 Jelly Bean update on blukitkatrom.blogspot.com? It says it's for the Alacatel One Touch Idol X but doesn't list a model number or anything. It's not KitKat but is a step up from 4.2.2.

There are TCL sources listed but not for the S950. There are listings for the 6040 A/E&D so one of those should work.
Should work as in boot, but without dual-sim i think ;(.
The 6040D & 6040E are both dual SIM phones.
