The beta kitkat





is rootable and has a custom recovery.

Needed:
twrp recovery: View attachment 2953063
the kitkat rom: https://yadi.sk/d/IxZoC-YZbgE7t
the zip for rooting: download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip?retrieve_file=1

How to:
you can flash the kitkat rom and the twrp recovery at the same time using spflashtools ( tutorial on how to flash http://androidxda.com/flash-stock-rom-using-smart-phone-flash-tool**** or use the first post )

**** if you use this tutorial you need to unmark PRELOADER and MOBILE_INFO (Warning, it´s dangerous to flash those files. Be sure unmark them) and for me i had to manually select CUSTPACK (click on the "CUSTPACK" text and use the window to navigate to the custpack.img in the kitkat rom) .If you want you can flash the twrp recovery (click on the "RECOVERY" text and use the window to navigate to the View attachment 2953063 you've downloaded earlier) btw you will be replacing the stock one with twrp so do this wile in sptool

and plz dont forget to remove extension *.txt from files EBR1, EBR2 and MBR in the kitkat beta or you wont be abel to flash.

if you are successful in flashing then you can root the device by placing the SuperSU zip in the internal storage and rebooting into recovery via adb http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853159 and that is it XD

the google play store isn't installed and i dont know how to instal it i can flash it via twrp but it wont open and the google account cant be added i don't know why

i have tested this on the 6040D and it works XD i nije me briga ako sjebete fon nisam odgovoran bla bla(use google translate serbian)

What are your first impressions? Are there any major bugs?

well the lock screen isnt safe at all (the keyboard leaks through and sometimes it doesnt lock), the status bar notification colors arent visible and some text cant be read, not everything is themed in there "white" theme something is in the aosp "black" but the rom is stable

xposed works but gets bootlop if you run gravityBox and minminguard the rest works

and thank you for the Gaps fix it works im going to test it with google now

Alright i flashed the GAPPS =>http://itvends.com/gapps/gapps-kk-20140606-signed.zip
But Play Store was not included and i think the Play Services also were not included , so i downloaded them from the web but Play Store is closing it self i cleared the data for services and play store but it still keeps crashing.
UPDATE 1 : Alright i Downloaded this .rar and installed every apk but the Phonesky.apk - that is the playstore apk everything seems to work i can now add google account and get all gmail , youtube , hangouts new's and weather , work except playstore.

Try with 20140105 release (small gapps). You can also try to find Paranoid android or MIUI gapps, maybe they'll work.

and iunstall GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.apk to system / app

and thats it you have GAPPS but first install GoogleContactsSyncAdapter and make it a system app then move the apps from google drive to custpack

Another tip about boot loop :

Sametimes bootloop occures because one has just installed a rom but didn't wipe data before rebooting

I have had this problem when flashing using cwm as well as SP flash tool.

The solution :
Plug the phone to your charger
Press the power button, the screen will turn off and the notifiaction led will light
As soon as the led turns on, unplug the charger (one has to be very quick)
wait a bit to be certain that the phone stays off
Plug the charger again and wait some seconds that the screen turns on, as soon has the screen is on, unplug the charger.

Now you should be out of boot loop
start the phone in recovery mode (power + Vol+) Wipe data/factory reset

Try XPosed 2.3.1 and latest version of GravityBox.

I think you are missing the right APN settings. Check them by you're provider.

I check them all and they are right. I'm from Chile and i think that's the problem because when i used jb 4.2.2 it happened the same so I decided to try changing the modem.ing version and it works fine but on KitKat 4.4.2 I don't have the modem.img version so I can't navigate on 3G. If you knew something to make it work I would appreciated a lot.

just messed up with xposed and got an error from the phone (mmc storage broken). when i get into recovery mode (the last time) i do wipe partition, cache, system format. then phone dont start. just stuck at idol x logo. Mobile Upgrade S saves my phone from 2 days on the burial ground :cyclops:
