Do you have the right scatter file? See my MEGA link in sig for the right one.

what recovery? cwm?
In flash tools you're using an scatter file to flash files to you're phone, when you're using the wrong one the file (recovery for you) will be flashed to a wrong partition.

So you need the right scatter to flash the recovery in to the right partition. The one that work for me is listed below in the MEGA link.

Thats weird, you can try the format and download but that will wipe the phone and the current (working?) rom.

I used SP Flash Tool to upgrade my TCL S950 to Kitkat rom downloaded in this thread.
After loading the Kitkat rom scatter file, manually click on the recovery to point it to the path of TWRP recovery you downloaded in the thread too.
Click download and wait for the green ring to appear that indicate completion of flashing.
Upon first boot into phone, copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip to phone.
Reboot into recovery, flash file UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip using TWRP recovery.
Rooting is tested and worked for me.

This is the worst part for me, I had tested more than a dozen of Gapps, all does not work, either it has error message or after flashing, play store is not there.
Lucky, I came upon this site, xxx.needrom.com/download/gapps-slimroms, download the GApps Slimroms-4.4.2, only this GAPPS works after tested more than
a dozen of them. Replace xxx with www

I just want to report that I am currently running Xposed 2.6.1 on my 6040d without any bootloop.

How I got there:
- from Xposed Installer I performed the installation of version 2.3.1
- kept using version 2.3.1 for few days
- upgraded to version 2.6.1 (from Xposed installer) and, surprisingly, no bootloop

I have 2.6.1 running since more than a month without problems, I cannot tell you why it is not bootloping on my device, but that's what I did....
Therefore if you feel adventurous and know how to recover from bootloops, maybe you can try installing 2.3.1 first and then update to 2.6.1 to see if it works for you as well.

Note1: DO NOT TRY THIS if you don't know how to get out of possible bootloops !
Note2: I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO HELP you if you get in a bootloop !

I am using the following modules together with 2.6.1:
- Greenefy (2.4.4)
- Unbounce (1.3.2)

I am not using GravityBox module, I cannot comment on this.

Ok, I'm using Xposed 2.7.1 without issues, but It's like that only with certain modules. Gravitybox, Xblast and a few others produce bootloop.

I got help from one member how to get out of bootloop:
-Press power button for 10+ seconds to reboot device
-After reboot keep pressing some of hardware buttons (power for instance) until you get one short vibration
-repeat pressing the same button (not holding it) for 4-5 times until you get one long vibration, that's the sign that xposed framework is turned off.

in my experience runnning 4.2.2 installing latest version of xposed will not give you bootloops. installing gravitybox will be :(

or you can do this trick:

Plug the phone to your charger
Press the power button, the screen will turn off and the notifiaction led will light
As soon as the led turns on, unplug the charger (one has to be very quick)
wait a bit to be certain that the phone stays off
Plug the charger again and wait some seconds that the screen turns on, as soon has the screen is on, unplug the charger.

Now you should be out of boot loop
start the phone in recovery mode (power + Vol+) Wipe data/factory reset
or when you are in the recovery you can flash the xposed disabler thats already in your phone upon installing xposed (in the root of your phone memory)

Did anyone else flashed recovery successfully with this method? I flashed the KK ROM and recovery 4-5 times and can't seem to enter recovery. Probably it didn't flash right. Is there any other way to root it except with flash of su update?
