I can send you V10n_00, for Vodafone RO, if you still need it. I've used it myself to downgrade from the official 2.2.1 update.

BUMP. How does one root their 2.2.1 P500 without downgrading to a 2.2? Because the LG link for the 2.2 is dead for most regions!

It wasn't working for me because the link in OP's post says "http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/WEBSW/LGP500/AINDBK/V10a_00/V10A_00.kdz".
V10a instead of V10b, and V10A links aren't working.

Only one or two types are available for a country...
V10b(2.2) and v10c(2.2.1) for india.

Just confirming, Rooting is not required to install stock 2.2 (V10B) firmware over 2.2.1 (V10C) firmware?

LG Optimus V

I've tried the secondary option using the ESN/Model# for the Virgin mobile version of the phone. The result turned up a .cab file. While all the information in the source page jives I do want to confirm that a .cab is acceptable over .kdz?
(Also noted, this is for the US version of the phone which may explain the one-off archive style.)

Has anybody else tried this on the 670?

So i rooted and flashed megatron rom from my tmobile usa lgp509. im trying to find the original rom. i cant find it. anyone flash a custom rom and went back to the stock lg rom? i searched and still cant seem to be able to locate the right stock lg rom. thanks
