PACman 18 + kernel 29/11 very unstable here. Randomly reboots on many operations (edit contact among many others). Is anyone else experiencing this?

Try upping your voltages it seems more juice is needed for bfs so something on my test build of CNA it become stable after increasing the voltages a bit....

Let's Go ^_^

Thanks for staying so involved with the builds.

how are you set up?
I'm always curious about this.

I'm running CNA 3.6.5

Interactive

loading all CPU modules (default settings) at boot via the v2.0-beta Bootmenu that was included in the 2nd Boot CNA 3.6.5 build.
I enable KSM, zRam @ 18%, zipalign, sd @ 2048 read ahead, and no other syctl tweaks..

All good including battery, which never lasts as long as I'd like, but I use my Defy like a second computer and media center, so who's complaining about limited battery life .

Any news on 720p video?

ps.. Nice

For me I don't really have set settings

For voltages it's something like this -

[email protected]
[email protected] or a bit less
[email protected]
[email protected]

In terms of tweaks I don't have KSM, Zram enabled but I do have the some start-up scripts like zipalign at boot etc.

Video recording will be fixed when Quarx fixes it because am using the same device tree and am not a dev so I can't fix stuff like that required deep knowledge and understanding.

On a side note I have ported Recents Ram Bar from AOKP into the next CNA. Am going to have a second go at porting the lockscreens from Slim and later rebase the device setup and maybe some of those stupid bugs like no charging led will go :D

I will try as soon as I have time to reinstall.
One more little question: does PACman 18 come out with Quarx kernel or the modded one?
I couldn't understand if the OP was up to date on PAC...

It comes with Quarx you can see it in the kernel version it will be named [email protected] If it's Blechd0se kernel it will have JellyX and the end.

I now know how to activate the "kernel samepage merging" option in the root explorer, because on the common place it doesn't keep it "on". But after every reboot it's "off" again. My whish is this option working in the next build! Thanks in advance :)

PAC with PA working!!!

I found a solution for the Paranoid settings isn't saving.

logcat sayd:
Code:
W/System.err( 5173): java.io.FileNotFoundException: /system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf: open failed: EACCES (Permission denied)
and google sayd:

http://www.paranoid-rom.com/forum/paranoid-talk/310-paranoid-preferences-isnt-saving-resolved

It's a premissions right on the file /system/etc/paranoid/properties.conf. "i have to enable r/w flags on the file for group and others for it to work", and it work.
Will test a little the all options from PA settings. Now PAC man its complete...:fingers-crossed:

BTW, Im using last JellyX kernel and its woring very well. Bye!!!

Some screens:

I have installed Slim Bean today, and I must say, it is incredible. However I found one thing that's really bugging me. All was fine, flashed it with no problems, from a clean Froyo SBF. The problem is that I've used it almost all day, and now I wanted to flash new gapps, however I can't get to the proper recovery menu.

If I try to use the Power menu, select restart and then Recovery/Bootmenu, nothing happens, Defy will just reboot normally. If I reboot and keep pressing Vol -, it'll get in stock recovery.

Has anyone had this issue before?

Part of it isn't an issue but ur ignorance. U need to press vol- only when blue led comes up to enter boot menu. That's one of the basics of any defy ROM knowledge...

Thx for the response. And just to enlighten a bit of your ignorance, I've used to hold down Vol - button for several ROMs on the past year, and it worked flawlessly. In 1 year this was the first time it didn't work for me, and it has been quite a lot of ROMs...

ROFL:p...2nd init boot menu has always been initiated by pressing vol down after blue led...holding down vol down and power button is the method to enter stock recovery..go check the all-in-one defy sticky if u want.

Edit. That is unless u have been using a 'variety' of moto's stock sbfs and wanted to go into the stock recovery...lol!!!

I suppose that not working of PA settings is conneted with changed place where settings are saved , it is different place than on last working PA settings - maybe it is only permisions problem ... later i'll check this deeply

hmmm ... using PAC rom without PA settings is rather pointless .... thats a pitty , but you spend a lot of time on it . THX .
So my trace with paranoidsettings was good ? What permission should that file have finally (in digits or screenshot please) . THX.

Kayant, I know you said you're busy, but can you please update SB to 3.1?

Sooner rather than later, that is. :)
