Thanks for the help. That seems a lot easier than I expected. I have the Firmware Finder for Huawei app but there are so many choices.
I ended up downloaded files from a "FullOTA-MF" entry called "MHA-L29C636E7R1P8B193 (9.0.1.193)" (L29C636 is my phone's model) and received 2 files: "Update.zip" (2.74GB) and "update_full_MHA-L29_hw_spcseas.zip" (749MB) .
Just want to check if this is the correct file?
I guess yes
Just wanted to thank you for the help again. I finally got around to updating my phone by flashing the file I mentioned which successfully updated the phone to Pie. I tried installing OmniROM after that but I had the same issue as you where it gets stuck booting on the OMNI logo. I too ultimately had to go with the RR ROM.

How can i go back to emui?
I'm guessing you just need to download and flash one of Huawei's stock ROMs.

Extract update.app, extract system.img, fastboot flash system.img.
Try an USB2 port, try another cable, don't touch the device at all.
thanks, now flash without problems, its funny how a different port or cable make the difference.

Can I ask something more? when i tried to relock my bootloader i received this message.

btw, I never root my device, only flash openkirin

The OEM toggle is strange, some Pie versions have it, some not.

no more update RR rom ???
Same situation on Oreo too, RR had less releases. :(

FYI, from RR using EMUIFlasher 1.1 (why does 1.2 fail to verify the downloaded assets @OldDroid ?) I've gone to stock 9.0.1.191 and it's pretty ok. Battery >6.5h SoT daily, no more random reboots, yes the quicktoggle panel is huge, yes the navbar is huge (but I can hide it and use gestures instead, and these work better than RR, eg. I can get out of fullscreen apps);)

I've installed OmniROM latest alpha and it seems great. The only thing I've found is that the call speaker is not used when listening videos or music. Is it an option to turn on or?
Same for me. First impression of this ROM is very nice. The only annoying thing is sound from speakers. Stereo doesn't work and sound a bit different like lower quality.
