Of course, you must first flash Oreo TWRP from Fastboot (power off, connect to PC by USB, boot by Vol- & Pow)

Base ROM overwrites System and other partitions, Factory Reset (from Recovery) resets Data.
With that you will have debloated, not rooted stock Oreo with neccessary modifications for SIM(s) and NFC (if L09).

You need HuRUpdater only if you want to go back from stock Oreo to Nougat - even for that HURupdater is not needed, it can be easily done by HiSuite (post #3 in Rebranding thread)
Is Base roms recommended than the oreo stock rom with OTA Updates? Because I was wondering how to go back to Stock Oreo with OTA Updates

Read post #2, you will find answers there - it also depends what you want in future (rooted stock Oreo or stock OTA updates if/when they come)

PS: Once you are on Base ROM you can go back to pure stock from eRecovery (power off, plug by USB to charger, Vol+ & Pow), must be in WiFi range.

However, you must do then again modifications for SIM(s) and NFC (if L09)

eRecovery will downgrade me or stay in Oreo?

As written in the prev post, eRecovery returns stock Oreo (but without neccessary modificationscations hence GSM/3G/4G will not work)

Pls carefully read posts #1-#4 in the Rebranding thread before asking further questions

Yeah, I've already read the rebranding thread but I'm confused so I just trying to clear things. Thanks for your assistance. Greatly appreciated.

I tried RROS Beta 3, Beta 2, Omni Rom and Lineage OS.
Each of those doesn't always correctly detect my microSD, and camera works, but only sometimes. Imo these roms aren't worth installing yet, but of course, I appreciate the effort that has been put into them.

inb4 I used tecalote's guide and followed every step carefully

Try to format your external SD as exFAT (instead of FAT32 or NTFS)
Many Users don't have any problem with external SD on OpenKirin ROMs - that's why you can't say "these roms aren't worth for installing yet" if you face problems which others don't have.

No other rom forced me to format my sd card, lol. And as I said, it doesn't always detect it - sometimes it does. These roms could be stable, but not working camera is too much.

Probably something to do with your SD Card. Worked fine on my P9. For the camera issue, clear cache and data of EMUI & AOSP Camera and reboot. For me it fixed my issues
