Hm,

ok, after some investigation, I really like this ROM (OmniROM Beta 3), but: I just cannot connect to any device. com.android.bluetoothh always crashes during establishing a connection...

Did someone get this running?

Hm, that's strange: I tried to connect to another device from the P20 Lite.... On the P20 I got a PIN and everyhting presented, on the other device I get after some time an error "PIN was not correct", however ther was never anyhting shown....

Update: OK, so if other devices pair initiate the paring-process, than everything works well. It's just, when this device tries to pair. Using known devices afterwards works perfect..

Apart from that: I've used the intregrated updater to update the device OTA using the original EMUI-recovery.... and it worked (also OmniUpdate claimes that it may only work with TWRP)....

Update: OK, as I really want to use this phone but cannot go without BT.... so I reinstalled EMUI, connected all my required BT-Devices, backed up the the file /etc/misc/bluedroid/bt_conf.conf, reinstalled OpenKirin and now I'm (hopefully) setting the device up again... It's a pity, as (as far as I could see), everyhting else worked flawlessly...

Did you get it started with BT? On EMUI 9

Yes, so far I did the following:
  1. Flash a normal EMUI9 (I flashed only system.img and recovery_ramdis.img), wipe everyhting
  2. Started EMUI9, connected all necessary devices, install magisk (manager.apk, patched ramdsik) to gather root
  3. backup /data/misc/bluedroid/bt_config.conf
  4. flash OmniRom9 Beta 3 and original recovery, set up OmniRom9, install magisk
  5. deactivate bleutooth
  6. copy back your saved file to /data/misc/bluedroid/bt_config.conf
  7. This worked for my headphones and also for my smartwatch, however for my swartwatch additional steps are required:
    • have a Amazifit BIP working with GadgetBridge: I also connected the device in GB (in EMUi9), backedup the database and restored it in OmniRom
    • If my device lost the connection, I have to reboot, but apart from that everyhting works flawlessly so far...

Mets regards,
Peter

im guessing they COMPLETELY stopped commenting and helping. their own support page is bullshit when mentioning we need to replace ramdisk partition ... this partition does not exist on emui 9.. also no nfc.. no vowifi..no volte.. no working bluetooth ..no notch support even they say so.. pretty much a bad rom.. without support.

OmBeta 5 does not recognise simcard, in single simcard model ANE-LX2J

Just tried OmniROM Beta 4

I have the same issue with the ANE-LX2J version (single sim card) with OmniRom Beta5. All seems to work fine (have not tried BT) and the operator is recognised. However, it shows it as a dual sim card phone but all sim card options are greyed out and won't recognise my single sim card. It can receive SMS messages but can not send them or turn on LTE data.

Went back to Resurrection Remix 7 and all seems to work fine.

Shame, OmniRom Beta 5 looks good.

Does BT work for you on RR7? Tried it and no luck to pair my Huawei Watch GT. Although I was able to pair with my car. I have ANE-LX1 single sim

No luck with BT and RR7. It seemed to pair if I selected the phone through my laptop (which made me think it worked), but then realised later it did not if I selected the laptop from the phone. BT crashes if I try to pair a speaker with the phone. Basically no dice on this ROM. Think everything else works though, incl GPS, WiFi and teathering.

    Root OpenKirin Roms

    Hello,
i looked for a method to root LineageOS without having TWRP Recovery installed.

I found it out now. At the following link you can download the Magisk v18 patched ramdisk.img

Go to https://cloud.alpen.space/s/QHK6x6B9w7JyQSE and download the file "ane-lx1-magiskPatched-ramdisk.img" and flash it via fastboot.
After that, install Magisk Manager to update/configure magisk.

    Code:
    # fastboot flash ramdisk ane-lx1-magiskPatched-ramdisk.img

You also download the original ramdisk if you want to unroot.

I tested this only with LineageOS beta5 rom, but i think, it will work with the other OpenKirin Roms also. Please test it and keep me informed.

How is RR on the p20 Lite? I was thinking of installing it. Does Bluetooth work?

I refer to this version, it is the official version. Has the notch well adjusted and is stable.
You can download the Gcam that is in this same p20 lite forum, it works fine.

I have tried the official version and the Openkirin version, I prefer the official one because it is more stable to what my experience says (the one I just put)

    No Volte support :(

It's really sad that none of the roms would support volte. Here in India all the network providers launched volte in the recent years. I got a "jio" sim which only supports calling over volte so I can't use any roms with it. Probably would use these roms when I get some other sim which isn't much volte reliable. Thanks a lot devs for these treble roms :)

The P20 Lite has an Arm64A-only partition table. Yet I am not able to boot aosp 10 by Phhusson. I am able to boot most roms with the EMUI 8 vendor, but almost nothing except Openkirin's GSIs on EMUI9+ vendors. And now you're trying to convince him that you got an AB variant to boot? If so, how? Explain.

With Emui 9 vendor everything is booting. Since EMUI 9 you have an AB Partition table. EMUI 8 has an a only partition table but EMUI 8 is on the p20L useless for GSIs. Go for EMUI 9.1 and flash AB ROMs via Fastboot and wipe cache + factory reset with the stock recovery. That's it.
