CPH2417 is US and is single sim.
I have the same model. I was able to root using the patched kernel images posted here. I even posted patched A08 version kernel a few messages above. I got this from EU update OTA zip but I have successfully used it to root two CPH2417 phones.I have the Oneplus 10t 5G CPH2417, Possible to root this device??
Is there a video showing how to do this, I am new to the whole Android and Rooting community and have no idea where to beginI have the same model. Would it be possible for you to make a second branch for CPH2417 (US version)?I plan to regularly release stock boot.img and magisk patched if anyone is interested https://github.com/seanwlk/oneplus10t
that variant is not available on OxygenUpdater sorry. Won't tell you what to do but if i were you, i would've used the EU version boot img since they are supposed to be the same phone anyway. I cannot test this though.Would it be possible for you to make a second branch for CPH2417 (US version)?
Boot works with boot images which both the boot and recovery are now (A/B devices don't have a recovery partition anymore).that variant is not available on OxygenUpdater sorry. You could potentially `fastboot boot magisk_patched-boot.img` instead of flash it just to see if it works, i do not recall atm if the boot command works with boot image or only for recoveries
Yeah the kernels seem the same. I rooted my phone the first day I got it about a month ago booting the patched Indian 10T kernel from the first post here. Guess the extra branch is not really needed after all. Thank you though!that variant is not available on OxygenUpdater sorry. What is the error? Is there a solution for the Netflix login issues with unlocked/rooted 10T yet? Tried bunch of ways like Zygisk hiding, safetynet fix, liboemcrypto disable, different netflix app versions but none of these worked.
Have you had a chance to get the boot.img from the lastest CPH2413_11_A.10 update and patch it?I plan to regularly release stock boot.img and magisk patched if anyone is interested https://github.com/seanwlk/oneplus10t
Here you go: https://github.com/seanwlk/oneplus10t/releases/tag/CPH2415_11_A.10Have you had a chance to get the boot.img from the lastest CPH2413_11_A.10 update and patch it?
Wanting to update but can't get the boot.img myself.
Thanks for all your help!
fastboot --set-active=a
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot --set-active=b
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot format userdata
fastboot flashing lock
--> SELECT LOCK AGREEMENT ON PHONE <--
I am not sure if it would work before updating, but you might as well update first so that it is not a pain later.I also have model CPH2417 that is currently still on version A.04. Am I correct in assuming I cannot use the boot.img from A.08 that you posted but rather I should update to A 08 first then root? Thx!
You cannot use a A.08 boot img on A.04 you will soft brick it. You can use the CPH2415 one thoughI also have model CPH2417 that is currently still on version A.04. Am I correct in assuming I cannot use the boot.img from A.08 that you posted but rather I should update to A 08 first then root? Thx!
Are you not listening to me? I just told you how to do it. Boot the patched image and run the direct install. Magisk installer will do what needs to be done for you. This is also the same thing the OP has done. Ignore those other instructions you found, they are incorrect and pose problems when you take OTA updates as OnePlus is moving away from full OTAs to incremental ones that will not flash to a phone with modified images.I understand that, but in the instructions, the repaired vendor_boot.img is also flashed
Don't follow that guide. You just need to boot (not flash) a patched boot image and then run direct install. This also creates backups of your stock images which you'll need when you OTA.You followed this guide
https://www.droidwin.com/root-oneplus-10t-via-magisk-patched-boot-img/
or did you only flash the patched boot.img?
Again, DON'T flash the patched image! You must use the direct install method in Magisk after booting the patched image. It is true that when rooting the OnePlus 7 pro I only flashed the repaired boot.img. I was surprised that Sadique Hassan recommends otherwise for this model.
While in adb in cmd type "adb devices" it will show your device serial number and then run the .bat file as run as administrator your device will be unlocked,It says it failed with a timing. OEM unlock is enabled in settings. To avoid clutter or adding confusion here, if it is ok please private message. Thanks a lot for your support
