I have the Note 2 with following :
GT-N700,
kERNAL 3.0.31-2654639 [email protected]#1
Tried all . Stil nogo, The batch file says no "No deviceFound"
Can there be any other Alternative... TIA:)
Do you have abd installed? If so open an adb command window and type adb devices and hopefully your phone should be found. Also make sure USB debugging is on. Try running again after that. I'm not sure if this works with the international version of the note 2.

Ok so I downloaded everything now...how do I do this please a step by step guide
Did you download the root exploit from the OP or the one NetworkingPro did on the second or third page?

You will want to make sure you have some sort of adb installed. Search for 15 second adb and download that if you haven't already.

Also make sure you have the correct drivers for the phone installed on the PC.

Make sure you have USB Debugging turned on.

Some people also stated clearing cache and dalvik (I didn't and it worked fine, your mileage may vary)
Plug your phone into PC.

Open a command window in the adb folder (where ever you extracted it to after downloading) and type: adb devices

You should see a alpha numeric value show up on the line below which is good. You can close the adb window.

Now run the Ghettoroot and follow the instructions on screen. At some point you will see a popup on your phone to authorize USB debugging and allow it.

I'm at work right now and not in front of my laptop with all my stuff but this should get you rooted. I would recommend using the file that NetworkingPro provided.

Anyone else please speak up if I'm missing something as I think I'm still in a food coma.

I have tried just about everything and can't seem to get this to work! Need help! I followed all the instructions from the op! I have tried the current version of the installer and the previous one, and tried the 4l, and 4tl binaries, and not having any luck, tried the installcmd.exe as well as the steps from networking pro (clean, prepare, root). It is almost as if i am missing something, but not sure what? I have all drivers for my phone as well as the adb drivers.
EDIT
found this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...ongratulations-welcome-to-4-4-2-root-t2871702
worked first try!

I have 4.4.2. Once rooted, can you install one of the wifi-tether apps for rooted phones? I'm not a fan of the FoxFi tether because it achieves the tether by installing a cert and doing a workaround.

Thanks!
I'd like to know the same thing.
I only need root to use Wifi-Tether App.
But, can we still use it if I upgrade?
I'm currently stock rooted on MC3 4.1.2

I just used GhettoRoot going from Android 4.3 to baseband ND3 to ND7 with 4.4.2 and I can say that wifi-tether apps do work nicely.
I don't know if it'll work for you specifically, but I followed this post. I also downloaded the Android SDK, copied the adb.exe, AdbWinApi.dll, and AdbWinUsbApi.dll from the (main folder)\sdk\platform-tools\ folder, then making adb.exe always be run as administrator. After doing all that, I can confirm that I have root and wifi-tethering.

Happy rooting everyone!

Confirmed Working Root For Stock 4.4.2 - ND7

Can someone please sticky this???
Just wanted to share this with everyone since I had a hard time finding a working version of Ghettoroot for the latest Verizon Note 2 OTA ND7 update. For some reason the adb.exe was not the right one. I hope this helps everyone. I take no credit in the creation, I just fixed it so that it is easier for others to root a brand new phone.

I'm not gonna lie to you fellas.... I mean, I'm not gonna lie this time. Not that I lie all the time, but I just know this time is not the right time.

I'm afraid of executables where the source code doesn't exist. There, I said it. Call me crazy, but rooting the phone with the executable kinda freaks me out. I'm not gonna lie. Not this time.

Thanks, the fixed version worked for me. I just got my Asurian phone today and the old version wasn't working.
Since I cant install a custom boot loader on this one, how do I get WIFI tethering to work if I can't install Wifi Tethering fix.zip from the boot loader.
Thanks

I worked all day yesterday on upgrading to ND7 and rooting.
Wifi-Tether app is no longer working on my phone. Are you using a different tethering app, Eddie??

Thank you!

GhettoRoot for galaxy S4

I try to use GhettoRoot for Galaxy S4(4.4.2 / ND1).

But, GhettoRoot is suspended and rebooted without rooting.
I also use source and binary of GhettoRoot via ADB, but rooging was failed.(It can be rooted via Towelroot V3)

GhettoRoot is suspended and rebooted at the below line.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[DEBUG] send_magicmsg:803: loop while waiting for other thread
[DEBUG] send_magicmsg:812: perform selected method
[INFO] search_goodnum:948: starting the dangerous things

[DEBUG] make_sigaction:633: loop while waiting for other thread -> [Rebooted but failed root]

I try to fix the source code, but I have no idea which code making an error.
It looks thread or searching good number function make the problem, but I'm not sure.

Worked great! Now how to backup my rom

Everything worked like a charm on my SCH-i605 note 2! I would now like to backup my original rom and put a new one on. I rebooted into system recovery and have no option for backing up. Is this something I'm going to be able to do with this root?

Thanks

First off, I'm an idiot.

I think that if you have stock 4.4.2 then you are jacked because the bootloader is locked. It doesn't matter if you're rooted or not. That means you now have to install SafeStrap that will allow you to load custom roms along side your stock rom. THere is an active safestrap thread for the note2. I don't know if it's fully functional though.

Word up!
