TRY ROOTING WITH THIS .FIRST if your on e2306 download version .112, then download the rootkit.- h t tps://www.dropbox.com/s/edse0h6b02odzn1/rootkitXperia_E23xx.zip?dl=0.
INSTAL ADB THEN GO INTO ABOUT PHONE, TAP BUILD NUMBER , GO TO DEVELOPER OPTIONS AND TURN ON USB DEBUGGING THEN PLUG IN TO YOUR COMPUTER AND RUN THE INSTALL FILE.
after install download TWRP LOCKED BOOTLOADER FOLLOW HERE -http://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/development/bl-locked-twrp-touch-recovery-bl-locked-t3257430
IF IT DOES NOT WORK TRY ROOTING WITH MY OTHER METHOD.

I figure out how to root all m4 aqua that have locked bootloader and cant be unlocked like mines. it actually very simple and i dont know why no one thought of it but first you have to use flashtool and download ftf thats fits your memory
8gb m4 aqua flash this version using flashtool does not matter what version your is unless it the 8gb model --LINKh t t ps://drive.google.com /file/d/ 0BzVQf67OZ9NtMFotOXRycTZoSlk/view?pli=1

if you have the 16gb model flash this version it is also the dual sim version LINK h t t p s ://drive.google.com/file/d/0BzNI3B6FbXTMdC1yRDhOZjk5SDg/view

after you flash the rom do into settings and tap the build number until you have developer options and turn on usb debugging lastly download this roottoolkit

8G IS E2303
16GB IS E2363

now run the install file and then BAM!!! YOU HAVE ROOT. this worked on my xperia m4 locked to wind mobile version E2306 I used the 16gb version E2363.. enjoy your root any question just msg me.:good:
CANT POST LINK SO I SPACED THEM OUT

Ok, so I was desperate enough to try your method despite the broken english haha.... Can I say that I love you? BECAUSE IT WORKED! Can confirm this method works for the 16 gb E2306 LOCKED bootloader. To add some clarification for others reading this.

1. When flashing the ftf file, be sure to do a full wipe
2. First boot will take a while
3. Make sure to place the root installer in the same folder as you ADB folder.

All the best, thank you, and time to give life to this phone :)

How do you Run the .bat File?? it wont run
I think you need to do some modifications to the .bat file. Check the model and build number and replace with yours. I even change the filename and include my model number there,in my case E2312  .

Does it works with other compilation? Or Does it works with ROM downloaded from flashtool settings (the same compilation, but not from google drive, from flashtool)?

Try this h t tps://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/xperiam4aquadual/userguide/Internet-and-messaging-settings/
Unfortunately that did not work. I had an lte connection prior to rooting, so i think i has to do with the rooting process. Also, options such as data roaming were available prior to root, and no longer now. Can I safely flash the e2306 ftf file without breaking root?

I have not tried that. but try it and let me know if you still have root after that. dont forget NOT to wipe your data when flashing with flashtool to see if you keep the root. if it does work i will flash back to e2306 version. good luck:good:

you have to set your apn settings and reboot the phone, after i flashed the dual sim firmware i lost my lte too, you gotta set your phone service apn
I manually set my apn settings in order to get data prior to rooting. Then once I rooted it was never able to connect to the data network.

When you rooted with the rootkit, did you get a message prior to completion saying something like "incorrect socket, rebooting to avoid crash" ? because i might have an issue with how xperia rootkit is setup to cause my data to not work

So I have been unable to get my data to activate on the dual sim firmware, should I just flash the original E2306 firmware? will that remove root?
Well I also undergo same problem after did root my E2312,happened after I did remove a bloatware via xplore (phone rooted).Phone reboot and suddenly I cannot access all network related things, from wifi to data network.I did google and some results say things related to my xperia theft protection (mxtp) or selinux, some sort like that. The .85 ftf that i have flashed actually trigger mxtp by default but I don't think it is the real problem, same goes to selinux things. What I did is just reflash the .85 ftf,set-up,get root and disable mxtp+make selinux permissive. Now my phone is just okay.Only looking for solution tu disable software update that keep nagging, but it is not a big deal.
