PD2 is the latest but don't worry. You can easily flash back with the older firmware here. Verizon hasn't incremented the bootloader as of yet so to be safe just block system update with Package Disabler Pro or the Debloat tool.
I just bought my S7 edge a three days ago so I guess my phone has to be running PD2. Yup it is. I just checked. Hopefully we can get root at least. Honestly I haven't missed my 6P too much.

It isn't happening with this exploit. It turns out it isn't even for the processor we have. If you want to catch up here is the original thread. I hear ya on not missing the 6P, even without root this phone kills it.

Yeah, the screen, build, camera, surprisingly the Bluetooth (much much better), processor, etc. is better on the S7 edge. I really liked the 6P, but do lots of videos of my fish tanks, where the 6P was not up to the task. I'm happy with my decision to sell my 6P and get the edge.

I typically only rooted my phone for Viper4Android, because I had the Nexus 6 it was easy to root. But now that have the S7E I can say that with the proper headphones the sound isn't that bad at all. I whish the bass was a little deeper like on Viper4Android but I can live with the bass. I never really tried Rom's on my phone just kept is stock with Viper4Android installed. I used to miss it when I first got my S7E, but now I have grown used to the sound and am starting to forget what Viper4Android sounded like anyways. Hopefully one day someone will put some time and research into getting V4A to work without root on any phone...but...I'm not holding my breath...just moved on.

Sigh, so I take it the Devs are starting at ground zero again?

Not knocking them, theyre doing gods work, but I was getting my hopes up that wed see root in the next couple weeks, unless someone else is getting further and just keeping lids on it until its ready to release.

SRSRoot's Twitter just tweeted this
"#SRSRoot: samsung SM-G935V (Build: MMB29M.G935VVRU2APD2) #Android 6.0.1 Now Supported for #Root"
Hope this is real, going to check it out!!

SRSRoot is known for claiming root on any phone, but not being able to deliver. That tweet has been around for a while and hasn't proven true yet.
