Hi, I had read those Threads - the German Forum used my older 2.81 version (which is patched with phh files cause of missing loop support for this Firmwares)
They didn't check that I made same with 2.82 (last final version) - and I think if 2.81 worked, this Version of SuperSU should be good:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634776377

TWRP you must look how it does. If possible back up your boot.img before flashing SuperSU.
SuperSU should work.
Only problem is, at the moment a new SuperSU comes released - you can't update it with official SuperSU. Then you must stay on 2.82 because I am not sure if it will be possible to update this EMUI Version to next release...
And be careful and do it at your own risk. Since I have P9 and not your device I can't test and give you guarantee..
Maybe you search on xda for further information how to use this TWRP and what it can or not can...

Hello - b386 is the official Version which is Flashable with dload method, all higher updates are only for some users available by OTA.
chief, do you mean that the b387 and B388 I dl from this site is useless with dl method??????only in TWRP???
How to know if dl method work with a firmware??only by testing on the phone or is there another method???
thank's...

Hi, I use Firmware Finder on P9 from Playstore. - but I don't use it for doing updates, I use it only for information and download Links.
My experience is - you can use those Firmwares, which has the Name "FullOTA-MF-PV"
If it shows only FullOTA-MF or FullOTA it is useless and cannot be flashed with dload - cause they are not official or only for some devices installable by OTA.
If you go to download, you can check and use "share Firmware" and copy it to clipboard.
Then you have download Link.
You can also check in download section by IMEI if the version is installable for your device.

@rayman95 BTW: it seems you were not happy with my MagicRaibow Rom v2?
If you use Firmware Finder do it like me, don't use it for updates (it has the possibility) but I have seen several bricked devices from users which has used this app to make an update instead of dload method.
But for Download Links and information it is the Best App this time since you can't find newer Firmware for Huawei anywhere else anymore.
Its a strange OTA political behavior by Huawei :)

@rayman95 I use always the official available Firmware which users can flash with dload or TWRP (both possibilities are important for my work) I don't want users making problems going back to Stock if they want I can show them a way.
I test everything on my device.
If I build a Rom it takes about one month. I flash it nearly 20 times or more to see how it works in each direction.
If there comes out between this time a new Firmware I haven't the time to start from beginning.
Cause I can't port same things easily. It has to be completely new configured.
And as I said I haven't seen this time another newer official Firmware.
There are Firmwares with b390 shown, but not usable for my concept.

I think I'll wait a little more, as I don't need the root right now.

Thanks for the lots of info, means a lot!

1) You must download b300 Transition Pack:
http://consumer.huawei.com/ch/support/products/downloads/detail/p9-chde.htm?id=92743
2) You are on Stock Recovery right now? If yes, unpack update.zip and copy the unzipped files to dload on external SD (other files from previous trying must deleted)
3) Flash it with 3 Button Method (Vol+ Vol- (in the middle press both down) and Power Button at same time. Release Buttons when Emui Software Installing begins.
4) After reboot you are on b300.
5) Download Firmware b182:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1079/g104/v63880/f1/full/update.zip
6) unzipp it and copy files to dload (before delete b300 in it) and flash it with 3 Button
7) After download hw_eu data zip:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G1079/g104/v63880/f1/full/hw/eu/update_data_full_hw_eu.zip
8) same step flashing
9) You should receive an OTA. Install it and install every OTA you get and you should come back to b386.
10) Enable Developer Options and it it: A) OEM Unlock B) ADB Debugging C) USB Debugging (exactly - not USB Debugging before ADB Debugging)
11) Unlock your Bootloader
12) flash latest TWRP from OldDroid
13) If you root, do it with SuperSU 2.82 SR1:
https://download.chainfire.eu/1114/SuperSU/SR1-SuperSU-v2.82-SR1-20170608224931.zip
I have to do the same with my L09 c432. Long story...

I have a question about steps 7 and 8. I downloaded and unzipped, but there was no update.app, there are only folders with APK files for the (bloatware) applications. So how to install that package?

And is it really neccessary (NewsRepublic and so are apps I always uninstall from the stock, and apps like Health and similar I just disable)?
But it also contains Themes and Magazine (another bloatware but IMO neccessary for Themes).

At the end I want to obtain (clean) b386 by OTA - maybe missing to install HW EU package would block OTA to b383/386 or I can safely omit HW EU?

I did everything by your instructions. I could not flash hw_eu.zip for B182 which I had unpacked in dload folder. It said that update is not valid.
Nevertheless, I have jumped over that step and went to next steps. Everything passed fine
It seems you (also) did not install HW EU but eventually you got back Nougat by OTA. Did you directly obtain by OTA b386 (over b182), or you first got b383 OTA or how?

Thanks

I cannot recall now, but I had two OTA's and the last one brought me b386.

@zgfg Sorry for late answer, I was on work...

That's right - it's not necessary to flash data.zip for b182. I don't know why Huawei provided this zip. I thought it must be installed, but it must not!
If you are on b182 you should receive an OTA to b383 and after an OTA to b386.

Thanks for your knowledgeable and excellent instructions (and ROMs), paitently shared to everybody (XDA, Android Hilfe - I pasively read by Google Translator).

So far, so good, installed b300 and b182 by DLOAD as per instructions, now downloading OTA b383.

In the meantime, and before I go to instal TWRP, do you maybe have stock Recovery (for L09 c432 b386) - I'd like to get prepared to easily switch back to pristine stock b386 (I'll backup boot and other partitions from TWRP myself) if/when EMUI 5.01 (b391?) comes by OTA.
PS: If I recall correctly, there was a Fastboot or ADB command to backup stock recovery- I will also try to find myself

Hello my friend :)
Here is the Huawei P9 Stock Recovery for b386 (L09C432): https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=961840155545568280

I am busy, see you

Btw: The Thread for MagicRaibow is also updated for v2 (based on b386):

Thanks again. Just to note, rollback went smooth (b300 and then b182, without attempting to installl separate HW EU package), OTAs for b383 (cca 2.5 GB) and b386 (cca 480 MB) followed automatically. Installation of b182 cleared all data and my appps, I will easily restore them through HiSuite (actually, unlocking bootloader will force again hard reset, hence I will restore data wnd apps upon unlocking the bootloader).

Regarding your objections on TWRP 3.1.1-1 - do you recommend an older TWRP version (eg., I have old downloads of 3.1.0-2 and 3.1.0-3, but TWRP thread doesn't offer repository of historical versions).

---

Mission accomplished - I also had problem with: FRP locked, bootloader unlocked (as showing on the fastboot screen) while OEM Unlocking option in Off positin and not allowing to enable (like @ogisha and others had), thus blocking me to re-install TWRP. Upon the rollback, OEM Unlocking option is active again, I will unlock today afternoon and proceed with TWRP and rooting (ATM, not with custom ROMs - thank you).

Btw, incident with FRP happenned some time ago, I don't recall details but remember circumstances:
- I had b386 rooted with SuperSU 2.79, and TWRP 3.1.0-3
- From TWRP I did hard-reset, followed by restoring original b386 partitions (backed-up probably with TWRP 3.1.0-2)
- Rebooted and then hard reset from *#*#2846579#*#*
After all that (maybe it happenned in the meantime) I found FRP locked (not allowing to re-flash TWRP), but OEM Unlocking option dissfunctioned.
Since the hard-reset b386 worked fine, I was busy (?!?) and waiting for EMUI 5.1 never coming, I didn't bother to fix (until now, on vacations)

You can use this version of TWRP by OldDroid:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634785012
Its very good v3.1.1-0
So I am happy that your problem with FRP is fixed now...

If you root, which kind to you prefer - Magisk or SuperSU?

Based on your instructions and links through this thread, I've installed SU 2.82 Permissive, YDS Busybox and Viper4Android (people, use XDA search to search through a thread before asking for the repetitive questions) and also AdAway from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190753
Everything PERFECT - thanks a lot
