I have a question I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I am running a 815P which was previously rooted with this method and had Xposed installed, but due to the mother board crashing on the phone, it was sent back to LG who replaced the motherboard and installed a fresh version of unrooted MM.

I still have the old rooted IMG file and I am wondering if i can just flash this over, or do I need to go about following some kind of downgrade procedure?

Thanks very much for any advise.
you must be sure if you can downgrade... you cant root MM. you need twrp for that..
you need to know if you can safely downgrade to LP..some phones brick after download.. example h811 20o MM its antirollback V3 and 20i MM- 10n LP are V2... once i go to 20o am stuck there... so you find out if your phone can be downgraded..

Well I'm on V20d-ZAF - Android security patch level 2016-01-01
Is this downloadgradeble and is the old IMG file that i have for the same phone still useful?

You need to make sure there's no anti rollback thing in your current rom. You can try this code: *#*#244773825625#*#*

When I found out that there's no an to rollback on my new motherboard, I simply pushed twrp and flashed superuser on my mm rom instead of downgrading and pushing a rooted image. I got an international h815

I just dialed the number you gave and scrolled down to the bottom and it says
Anti rollback Version 0
What exactly does that mean ?

It means that there's no anti rollback. You can use lgup to downgrade to lollipop. But I dropped all of that on my h815 and simply pushed twrp and flashed supersu after unlocking my bootloader.

Thanks for that information. I guess that is good news being that lollipop is the only way to get root and Xposed back.
What I was hoping to do, since I still have my injected root.img fiile from last time, is just flash it on with command line using Cmd
I don't have the Kdz file used to flash in Lgup, I only kept the injected root image and was hoping that would be enough, Also unfortunately given that i have the H815p variant, there is no unlocked bootloader, so no Twrp.

I was hoping to not have to do it that way, but if that is the only way to do it, could you point me out to the KDZ file for the stock lolipop rom
and the process to use to install it. thanks :highfive:

I followed all the instruction carefully and it worked. <3

Edit :
Now I'm looking forward to install TWRP.
(sorry I just remember that I shouldn't post "thank you")

no you cant root 6.0... you may root 5.1.1 only if you can downgrade to lollipop 5.1.1 theres antirollback so make sure you can downgrade other way it bricks phone ..
OK so I'm wondering what if I swap out this methods root files. And switch em from lollipop to marshmallow root files then inject the root into the need system partition? What do you think?

One thing i know it wont work for MM you need unlocked boktloader . it was changed in MM the way the handle the system thats why you cant . the patched the hole they had on LP i do not know it wont work. Maybe risk of brick phone beyond capability to fix.

Thank you! The method worked on my LG G4 ISAI VIVID by KDDI, using the commands for H819. It did not work from the first time, probably I made some mistake, but then I used the method together with modifying the system.img in UBUNTU to get rid of the bloatware, and it worked perfectly.

Hi

I would like to know if there's a way to do this without having Ubuntu, only Windows 7.

I can follow the instructions, but I'm not familiar with Ubuntu.

Thanks
