Where can I find a pre-rooted image for the H815p? And I'm currently on Marshmallow. Does that matter? You can skip the Ubuntu part if you find an pre-rooted image. You start the install from that step.

Yes, you can root on Lollipop or wait maybe two weeks , maybe we get an unofficial bootloader unlock to install other roms.Hi there
Can i rooting my phone LG G4 H-818
Or change the room
You are correct, the bootloader is still locked so you wouldn't be able to root marshmallow or install a custom recovery for CM14. However, it's possible our bootloader will be unlocked in time. One developer is claiming to have found the method and is currently working on making it work for all variants. Thanks a million for divulging this method, I just rooted my LG G4 H815P ZAF (South African variant), had to downgrade from Marshmallow to Lollipop first... Still, the process is pretty straight forward for anyone that has hung around this sort of dev/tech forums or has flashed any other phone before, just need to take it slow and read the steps as many times as needed so that you can do things well and in the right order... Still, it worked at my 1st attempt, so I'm really glad.
THANKS AGAIN!!!
Since I'm here, I'm going to ask, is it possible to install a recovery image, cause for what I read around while I was still looking for a way to root the phone while I was still on Marshmallow, you can only install a recovery image if the bootloader is unlocked, and even though the phone is now rooted... The bootloader is still locked, correct??
I only ask cause I wasn't able to look around yet, but I'm going to start looking for it, the only reason I rooted the phone was because there are some apps I want to use that require root access (like some vpn sharing hotspot apps), but also cause I'm curious to try the Android 7.0 Nougat, via CyanogenMod, even though I'm quite happy with the Marshmallow and even Lollipop performances.
Thanks everyone that contributed with valuable info!!
If anyone has this same model as I, is having trouble rooting, and needs any help, I'll be glad to help with some tips.
Cheers!!!
Thanks for confirming it!! So basically... Rooting LL on the H815P, it's useless ATM, at least that's what I felt like so far... I haven't been able to get anything that I wanted...You are correct, the bootloader is still locked so you wouldn't be able to root marshmallow or install a custom recovery for CM14. Do you have a link to the quote by the dev you mentioned? You are correct, the bootloader is still locked so you wouldn't be able to root marshmallow or install a custom recovery for CM14. Is your phone still on lollipop?...Good day,
Have a Canadian LG G4 H812 and want to do a system image for backup purposes. I've followed all steps, drivers installed, proper com number etc however after doing this step:
H812 Canada (All H812s) : Code: dd if=/data/media/0/rootedsystem.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=548352 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0
...it always gives a fail. Have people had luck making a system image via this method for a Canadian H812?
Thanks
Never was, always MM. I believe I might have just been told the answer today and it was 812 people CANNOT take a system image. (just to state I'm not referring to MM root, only my 812 and taking an image)Is your phone still on lollipop?...
In either case this flashing a system rooted image on a MM device, will fail and probably brick the deviceNever was, always MM.
