Hi, I've rooted my device using cf autoroot and root checker shows it's properly installed, however some apps don't work claiming my device isn't rooted or requires root to work. Other apps just open and stay blank, even after granting SU permission, what could be wrong?

With a stock ROM
Download twrp, magisk18.1 magisk manager
Download and flash from @ripee the twrp In Odin. Do not let reboot !

Immediately boot to twrp and allow twrp write access

Flash magisk zip, boot to your tablet, install magisk manager apk.

Search twrp for 815 its been up for a while

I need some help. I've been out of the game a while. Decided yesterday to root my SM-T710. It was completely stock up to this point. Had OTA upgrades to 7.0. I ODIN'd it with the autoroot tried rebooting, just clocked with the Samsung logo turning dark to bright. Then I tried the 5.11 autoroot, still same thing. I did get TWRP to install. It does say the warranty is tripped so it looks like the autoroot worked but I'm guessing I'm having a kernal conflict. I tried taking the stock 5.11 and ODIN back to kind of start over, that fails, can't copy the boot.img. I think I have everything I need just have done it in the wrong order. Any advice, tips would be appreciated.

The reason I wanted to root this is because I kept running into problems with reading/writing to the SD card, same issue as years ago that Google hasn't fixed. I know from experience with root you don't have this issue. This tablet is around 4-5 years old, if all else fails I could get a new one but I'm sure from experience someone could walk me through the order/tricks to get it booting again.

First off, if you can see download mode or recovery your not bricked yet.
You can flash the OEM ROM on the 710 no problem but you will loose your data. However

Need to install twrp via Odin, do not allow a reboot.
Force reboot then as screen goes black force recovery otherwise twrp will not take.
Once in twrp, perform a backup and then install magisk
Boot the device and install magisk manager.

Hey guys, I just attempted to root my galaxy tab s2 sm-t813 and i ran into some problems. I looked around to find a file for my model and used odin to flash "CF-Auto-Root-gts210vewifi-gts210vewifixx-smt813.tar" on my device. At first it wouldnt let me due to FRP so after looking around how to fix that I found that removing the google account linked would disable it.. the 1 thing I did not know is that adding a google account after it was flashed would re-enable it. So yeah.. i flashed it, it was successful but after downloading root checker it told me I didn't have root access, so i decided to go research it some more.. but sadly i was met with a "Custom binary blocked by FRP. Secure fail: Kernel" when I tried reboot the device. I still had access to both that download thing and the stock recovery.. but factory reset/data wipe didn't help so i went looking for a stock kernel thinking I could make everything stock again so it would allow me to boot the device. I found a thread on here that had links to stock kernel and rom, I downloaded the kernel and using Odin flashed it "T813XXU1APF4_Stock_Kernel". However it did not fix my issue, it only made the device boot loop. So, then i tried to flash the entire rom "T813XXU1APF4_T813XAR1APF1_HOME.tar.md5" but was met with an error message "SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot] Fused 2 > Binary 1". So yeah, that's where I'm at right now, the device boot loops, I have access to both stock recovery and the download screen but FRP is on and the binary is still "Custom". Any advice on how to get this thing back up and running would be appreciated.

EDIT: Downloaded another rom, "T813XXU2BRB2_T813OXX2BRB1_HOME.tar.md5" and this one worked perfectly, I have the device back up and running :) The binary is now "Samsung official" and the warranty is still at 0x1 (4) so i assume that's voided, but at least it works :p

Samsung tab s2 sm-t817v no cf auto root or twrp is not found anywhere.

I just bought this used tab today. For ebook reading. But I never like shackles of being under certain os.

I love custom os and my own settings. But I haven't found any cf auto root or twrp recovery for this device. Also tried some where one did flash but inside is stock recovery image. Another two just fails to flash through odin.

thought may be Verizon is tough enough for the open-source community. I am in extreme pain with this. Any help will be massively appreciated.

Just a real quick one. I currently has an S2 8.0 completely stock on Android 7.

I want to install Lineage OS.

Are the steps I should be following?

Need to install twrp via Odin, do not allow a reboot.
Force reboot then as screen goes black force recovery otherwise twrp will not take.
Once in twrp, perform a backup and then install magisk
Boot the device and install magisk manager.

Check as well if OEM unlock is a feature in dev options.
Can't check on my T810 as it's already on AOPK extended (Pie).
Which do you own exactly (T***)?

Set to developer mode
Settings device build number click 8 times or so

Developer mode .. Check if unlock bootloader is available

Whatever device that is an s2 8.0 find the appropriate twrp in twrp.me

Like 710 713 etc 715..

Flash with Odin, and before device boots go directly to recovery mode ( up+ home+ power )

If you see twrp success otherwise flash again. ( uncheck autoreboot. It helps )

Then flash magisk ( www.github.com/topjohnwu/magisk )

Then download and flash lineage, and pico gapps ( 32 bit android 10 )

Gapps.org.

Best to ya.

I'm on the 810. After enabling developer options, I do not see an option to enable OEM unlock.
Can I proceed with root/twrp/custom Roms then?

All I'm really interested in is gaining root. I'm on stock firmware. Nougat 7.0. I enabled ADB settings but cannot find an option to OEM unlock the device.

The unlock option is sometimes shown one or two days later.
To bypass that it might work to change (wifi off) manually the date, restart it and turn on wifi again.
For me that worked.

Thanks for your quick reply! I went ahead and tried flashing TWRP and it worked! Even with no OEM Unlock option shown.
I'll look for it after a couple of days, but I was able to root the device!

Hi, is there a tutorial for people running stock Nougat please?
My final target would be to run custom ROM and have TWRP like in my Pocophone ^^ Thanks

Could you please explain the steps you did ?

I posted a question few posts above this, more than root my T815, I need to move from stock Nougat to custom ROM like I did with my phone.

Can I use Odin to flash TWRP and then flash a custom ROM? I know how to get the root with Magisk and DFE once I have the custom ROM
