Did you use a backup of any kind?

I would be willing to bet that your force closes are related to using backups... I haven't had any issues with the stock email app... I cannot speak intelligently on Chrome as I do not use it...
I have not done any kind of backup at all. I just rooted :( I will try restoring with the stock software and then re-root again.

I've had issues with my email app as well. When I have a notification it force closes when I click on the notification or open the app itself. I used Helium to restore my apps once rooted. I haven't Odin again to check without restoring from Helium but when I do I'll report back

Have either of you removed or froze MyMagazine apk? If so, undo that and that will fix Email force closes. At least it did for me.

I found that my camera lense is crooked, and my home button is loose and the S-Pen is hard to take out. I had allready rooted my phone, here is a little advice if you want to return your phone after rooting.

After using Wanam Xposed to remove the custom logo, simply use Odin to restore the Vega restor image. Follow root instructions again, but only leave the .sh file on the root directory, not the root files... this will retain the official status while not installing root.

Hope this helps.

A couple of issues...

1. The signal goes to 0 and the data connection drops randomly (and I get that circle thing with the slash in it...)
2. The phone will ring and not show ANYTHING. Bluetooth rings but NO DISPLAY on the phone. Weird...

I did wipe the cache to see if it will help...

Is anyone else experiencing these issues?

I did factory reset then unroot and root again it fixed my problem.

Then I installed root call blocker and it started again so I uninstalled it, problem solved.

Is it RCB thats causing it? Because I have that installed also. Hmmm. I will shut the service down and see what happens...

Are you using Xposed? If so do you have the full screen caller ID module enabled? I've seen that cause the black screen when the phone rings in other instances. Just figured I'd throw it out there. Wonder if Xposed in general has anything to do with these random occurrences, such as the signal loss etc.

Actually I don't have it installed. Kinda afraid to install it since I can't do a nandroid backup. Are you all backing up or will it be ok?

Becuase this phone doesnt have recovery mode yet. No unlocked Bootloader or SafeStrap which would be required before a recovery like twrp or cwm could be used.
But their is a method that uses CWM, it just triggers Knox i believe... which i get trying to avoid but has anyone ever actually been declined a warranty claim by their phone carrier or mfr because they turned in a rooted phone that was broken?

The download from Android File Host is still not working correctly. The file size is too small. The one from the youtube videos Google Drive seems to un-7zip? correctly. You may want to not point ppl to Android File Host.

Is flashing or "Unrooting" confirmed? Like if I had a part break within a year could I go back to complete stock with the unlock symbol off the initial boot?

I had it frozen. Still had the FC issue after defrosting. I re-Odin last night, which resolved the issue. I will freeze some apps again tonight excluding the magazinehome apk and report back.

I recently got a replacement for my rooted Note 2. I was passing it down to my dil and wanted to restore to factory default. Something went wrong and it bricked (I've been rooting forever and never had that happen). Called VZW and said it was dead - they replaced it with no problems.

Sorry if this has already commented on, but I looked through the thread and found nothing! Anyways, after rooting (and subsequent reset), km having issues with my email app force closing. I have a miscrosoft school account, if that makes any difference. I also have issues with tumblr and chrome sometimes freezing then closing. I tried to redo the root process, but I still have closing issues. Any ideas on a source and solution?

As a result of troubleshooting here's what I found out. I have two accounts installed on my stock email app. I have the mymagazine app frozen. Everytime I receive a new email to either account, when email app is running in the background (Important), then when I try to open the email I get a force close. This is a recreateable error. I tested by just sending an email from one account to the other.

Everytime I unfreeze the mymagazine app , the email force close seems to go away. I did not have to reboot for this to work. But I did have to re launch mymagazine app in the background then was able to force close it.

I am going to continue to troubleshoot this to see why the mymagazine app interferes.
