It's supposed to be a way to unlock the bootloader on international devices I think.. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong since I don't know a whole lot about it because I'm in the USA and have use for it.. I'll attach it for you to look at and see if it's something you can use.

it doesnt work on usa models...

i researched this apk back when it popped up on S6 days and again for S8/S8+...

Since some might not know Ill post info on it now so ppl that search will hopefully see it as im sure itll come up multiple times haha

So HK/China typically have Snapdragon variants similar to USA models. However there are a few differences with the main difference being the BOOTLOADER:

1) HK/China variants BL has something called a CROM Lock (thus you get a CROM service apk)
2) USA variants DO NOT have a CROM Lock in the BL
3) The apk needs ONE lib file we do not have for it to function: libkwb.so (short for lib KIWIBIRD)
4) The CROM service apk will run on USA devices so long as the libs pushed accordingly.
5) The apk simply writes a "KIWIBIRD" flag to the /dev/block/steady partition.
6) On HK/China variants, since their BL has a CROM Lock, checks for this flag. When it sees it, it essentially turns the CROM Lock off which, for them, means unlocking the bootloader.
7) Since USA variants DO NOT have a "CROM Lock", our BL completely IGNORES this kiwibird flag. Thus rendering it useless for USA variants.

To add:

*NO, you CANNOT flash a HK/China variant BL. In ODIN/COMSEY ODIN it will FAIL to flash. If you force it after root by DD, YOU WILL HARD BRICK. This has been tried on S8/S8+ by two people and both resulted in a HARD BRICK which means stuck in EDL mode

Thanks for the extra information bro! There really wasn't a whole lot of info around the net on that but I figured it was for international devices only, but thanks for clearing that up!

Sorry since I am Checking this thread every 5 minutes I end up venting about Sammy screw ups? just noticed that Sammy sung another dung, I thought they were only coping apple heads ideas, now LG too. Phone auto connects to a whatever Bluetooth it wants to, so just listening to music through headset and whenever you walk into range of another paired Bluetooth that's on, say always on because it's charging LG Loco stuff goes down, what yeah, you can't hear your sounds anymore and so you gotta get out your phone manually disconnect, back when I had half a phone v20(immediate image burn and the like) had 3 and happened on them all, I remember when I called LG to ask why my music suddenly stopped and Rep said sir you need to power off all Bluetooth in range or will auto connect, I said sir you lost your mind, now I say sir Sammy has as well. ?

Are the Verizon versions of the Note 8 not supposed to be able to flash a different version? Like I was on N950U and I put together a full debloated N950U1 and it flashed and doesn't have none of Verizon b.s. on it.. It doesn't even show the Verizon logo at boot now.. It's actually running great.

It says voLTE I assume it does since it's on.. Not sure about visual vm I don't use that and I use Duo for video calling.

I don't see anything regarding Wi-Fi calling just VoLTE that's it.

Hehe, yeah... Well just to clear any potential confusion... Fortunately you ended off with "I think" ;) - cause I'll personally wire you US$100 if this apk does anything useful at all to my SM-N950F's bootloader (ie: "the bootloader on international devices"). Yeah it might be useful on "international devices" - but surely not in the case of the Note 8 because nowhere on the Exynos unlocked thread has this been mentioned/considered... so I'd like to assume that this is the case because it is completely irrelevant to any Note 8 user at this point, whether using an international bootloader or not.
