Good luck with that, im getting SuperSU failed to install binary. I have now run out of idears
The script I wrote that disables ric (which locks /system) is:
/system/xbin/busybox sh /system/xbin/rickroll.sh

Try running it manually, as root, and seeing if your root improves.
It's meant to run on reboot so not sure why it's not working for you guys.

just tried on my Z2 Tablet and doesnt work :( its running 17.1.A.2.36 1281-9030_R3A Cust.

Any ideas?

I click the configuration and it just goes back to the root of the service menu (as though it does crash)

Any way to dump the current ROM?

EDIT:

Alright I do now have TA.IMG and some form of root but SuperSU won't update the binary, just looking at why!

rickroll.sh is referring to the busybox in /data/local/temp. In my case there was no busybox. I copied the busybox from /xbin to /temp and executed rickroll.sh. Now I have full root rights and the su binary had been updated.

Maybe you have to change the path of the busybox in rickroll.sh...

Doesn't seem to work for me on my 511 running 17.1.A.2.36. The script loads up the service menu but selecting info > config just show that my boot loader is unlocked. The script never detects a crash and didn't go any further. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

EDIT: Turns out if at first you don't succeed you keep trying and eventually it works ?

I added support for all sony devices in v2 just after v1 came out but it hasn't been uploaded yet. Not sure what other changes are being made.

Anyway, in the meantime, if you run this script it will give you root (su binary), working with all apps.

Update: I have uploaded v11 of my script which is essentially what the community root v2 should be. So you can try that out if you want it now :)
I've just taken the jump and ordered my z2 tablet 32gb wifi. Thanks very much for kicking all this off. I can't believe how much progress was made with it all in such a short time!

I would just like to say that after loads of attempts I have now got v11 working and installed nut's locked bootloader dual recovery working. I'm creating a deodex rom now and let's see if I can flash it
